Rat poison in the recalled food?? OMG! LOOK at the poor little Yorkie in the pic... |
Oh, how heartbreaking:cry: |
Yes, this is very heartbreaking! |
I just saw this too. I posted the article on the other thread about the press conference. This is so terrifying. |
im sick to my stomach now.. poor baby |
I just cannot imagine...that is just horrible..I really hope that some actions are taken and things like this do not EVER happen to people again. It has caused such a scare for so many...I don't know what is safe to trust anymore. |
that is terrible ! |
my baby has liver shunt and he has problems all the time but now to know that other precious little angels have got kidney failures for a reason is WRONG and CRUEL |
I pray that little yorkie is saved. Nothing is safe anymore. Human or animal food. Someone is not doing their job here. I wonder who that might be? Food & Drug Admin possibly? |
omg, I want to cry!!! I can't imagine how his parents are feeling right now! I'm glad I haven't fed any of those foods to Bengi, although I had a few can of Nutro Natural Choice in my shelf, I put them in the trash right away! This is terrible, guys, poor little furkids! |
yes i agree... people in the third world dont get luxuries that we get... and we fear not of that... but for our puppies to have poisn in their food is outragous! |

For some,...their mistakes are not life threatening. Others are. Even if you are perfect, some things happen that are beyond your control. |
The poor baby...the little facial expression is pitiful...I hope he made it through... |
OMG!! This is horrible RAT POISON!!! I'm so relieved to know my babies don't eat any of those foods. If any of mine were to ever get sick because of someone's incompetence, there would be he** to pay!!! All those poor, poor babies....it just breaks my heart.:( |

I go nuts trying to feed my family right...good foods, balanced meals....organic whole foods...and that isn't even safe to eat anymore. Almost none of it is. And when you think of everything that is dumped into our soil and water, it really makes sense.... As horrible as all these recalls are...I hope and pray that it is the wake up call that people need. SOMETHING needs to be done. There needs to be noise made. |
OMG. To think I might have fed my baby Gracie rat poison? And my cats too? What gives with importing wheat from other countries. We have lots of wheat growers here. The almighty buck, maximize profits any way they can. |
Poor Pebbles, :( :( It said in the picture that he lost his battle with kidney failure on 3/23 (today ) after eating that tainted food. This is just HORRIBLE. The government needs to put stricker regulations on dog and cat food.  |
And just another reason not to feed Eukanuba/Iams... |
This is so horrible. How did this happen?? How did rat poison get in the food? My heart aches for those whose babies got sick |

I wonder if it would be any different when making bread for humans. |
I think the whole thing is horrid. I am stumped as to why we would need to import wheat from anywhere! Don't we have enough here? It is probably cheaper from China and money is king in this country isn't it. |
It's so sad, the yorkie on the news, Pebbles, passed away : ( |
I got this in an e-mail this morning. Sooo sad :( :( :( |
So that rat poision came from the wheat? |
I am SO outraged by this, especially after seeing the picture of poor little Pebbles, the Yorkie that died this morning. I think Menu Foods have been hiding this a LONG time and could have prevented SO much needless suffering, both for the animals and their owners. I mean REALLY! Did those wretched animals dying in their labs not give them A CLUE!!!???%^&*! I mean, G*d Forbid they should have lost a few bucks and pulled their products off the shelves - but I suppose what's a few pet lives, when they're compared to their almighty profits? |

I guess I'm just confused at your reaction is all.... |

We could produce it here. But it is more expensive to do so. Nothing new, in the world of business and economics. And US grain...the excess...the govt pays the farmers to BURN the excess. Nothing new. |
rat poison I just heard that the rat poison was from the wheat from China! It is a chemical they use but isn't allowed in the US so many vets will not know about it. They suggested a urine test and a renal test if suspected that your baby is acting sickly after eating any food that was on that list. This is just another reason not to buy from CHINA! THey do not have the controls that we have here. It was not a disgruntled employee. My babies all acted sickly after eating a few bites of some canned food that wasn't on that list and they are now on antibiotics and doing better but it was at the same time all this other stuff was becoming known. We had the fecal test run and they all had an ecoli strand identified. It really scared the #### out of me!! They are all find now, TG!! i threw that can out immediately and they are on their regular food now. .......Linda |

Much like the surgeon and medical staff that forget to count all of their instruments in the surgery room...and leave a clamp in a patient. The mistake can be under control. Yes. That is why the FDA and companies randomly check their product. But again...it is random. There will always be a chance, statistically speaking. Think about the recent US Treasury. The recent dollar coins that went into circulation w/ an error. It is random. The "error" coins passed numerous check systems. But they made it into circulation. Just an example... |

The poison itself isn't allowed in the US. But the poison entered into the US through the wheat gluten. It doesn't mean all shipments of wheat gluten is bad. We have chemicals for use as cleaners/pesticides that they don't have. And vice versa. I fail to see the connection of how this is another reason to not buy products from China, just because it is a chemical that isn't allowed in the US. If China doesn't have the controls we have...why didn't our US standards check the wheat gluten? If our standards were so great, we would've caught it. |
