Caesarean MISUNDERSTANDING!!! Well my little angel Guidoune went into labour at 1:00 am today (march 14 2007) at day 64?and at 3:45 am her water broke?and she began hard contractions and pushing?but after 30 minutes I was starting to get worried?where was the puppy? Sadly this little puppy blocked the canal and we thought the rest were back up!!! After about an hour I called my vet and took my girl in? He wasn?t sure if he was going to get the puppy out by inducing her labour but after feeling inside her he decided that it would be best to have the caesarean done. At the same time I decided that I wanted to spay her also, she is 3 ? and it was the best thing for her. Well we got home and after about an hour we called the vet to hear some news? But of course we are English and here in Quebec it?s sometimes easy to misunderstand?.lol So I asked them ?est ce que le chiot est mort? which means ?is the puppy dead? And she said ?oui? which is ?yes? But what she understood was ?est ce que le chiot est un male? which means ?is the puppy a boy?? After the phone call I knew that the only pup didn?t survive? So I went to pick her up so discourage about everything that went on? When we arrive at the vet I asked her how big was the little boy and she told me?he was really big too big to pass the canal? And then she showed me just how big with her too hands. Then she said?.he?s got a big belly, and he?s drinking really well on the mom? And I answered ?Drinking???? She said yes the puppy? Then we kinda figured out the misunderstanding!!! She said if they would have waited another hour longer he would have died. By the time they took him out the bag was off of his head and he was slowly drowning. She said they had to take out lots of liquids but he is a fighter and he made it. He weighs 6 ounces!!!! But he is such a cutie! And he is healthy which is the most important? So mum and pup are doing fine,   We named him ?Willy? because he has such a will to live! He has a for-ever home with us and his mummy. We will have our little Willy neutered when he is old enough. Just thought I would let everybody know the update on my little angel Guidoune! I will post pictures in a couple of days!:aimeeyork Take care :animal-pa :aimeeyork ~Natacha & Guidoune & Willy~:aimeeyork :animal-pa |

You must have been so thrilled when you realized it was a misunderstanding! I can just imagine your heart leaping into your throat! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Can't wait to see the picture of mom & her new little man! |
:) Thats so funny!(the misunderstanding)you must have been so relieved! i'm glad he made it. Thats a cute name congratulations! OH YES we must see pictures how could I forget? |
Yes my heart was in my throat...i was so upset, and the worts is that after i got off the phone, i couldn't undertsand why their was no others...because i knew that the puppy had died (misunderstanding) because he was caught half in the canal...and besides him i felt kicking...so i rushed fast to the vet to make sure that i wouldn't loose the other ones... and i said to the vet assistant...i don't undertsand there is movement...how could their only be one...(at the time still thinking willy passed away)... she told maybe i felt the uterus contractions...but i told her it felt so much like a pup... to find out little willy was still alive and kickin when i brought him in!!! He is such a cutie! and my little guidoune takes care of him so well..she's such a good mummy, even though she's still a little tired and for sure painful with the stiches on her tummy.... Will be going back to the vet in a couple of days...for check up on baby Willy and mummy. Because he was the only pup in there he got all the nutrients! lol so we kinda know why he's a 6 ounce monster...LOL and soon to be milk baby! His mum is 4 pounds and dad 3 pounds... I will definiatly take some photos of little willy...and post them. Thanks for all the positive support, we really appreciate it, Take care! :aimeeyork ~Natacha & Guidoune & Willy~:aimeeyork |

Congratulations! I just went through the similar story with my Vicky 12 days ago. This is a cute chubby pup. Good luck |
Oh, he is adorable!! I am so thankful that you acted when you did, otherwise, we might not get to share your little Willy! What a miracle .... every time I hear his name, I think of "Free Willy" the movie! :p Thanks so much for letting us watch him grow!:p |
What a great story to read! The pics of Willy are fabulous. He is the cutest little guy.:D |
Free Willy...lol I thought about the same thing when we picked them name...lol We were on our way home in the car...and i thought this little guy ain't going no where, he made it this far and his mommy loves him too much...i couldn't bare to find him a home later, I thought he deserved to be with us forever, We thought he had died, and i could feel his little feet in the canal...but to no avail he wasn't coming out!...this was definiatly bad news... so we rushed to the vet and just as they were getting him out they told us his bag had come off and he was sucking in the fluids...poor willy.... So i know that if i had waited 20 minutes later before going in...he would have left us... but i know god had other plans for willy, he'll be staying in his forever home with his mommy and he'll be spoiled rotten...lol:p Guidoune and her little willy are doing great, she is back to herself after the big operation and little willy is gaining weight by the day...a big milk baby!!! I will post pictures tomorrow, Thanks again everyone for your support and kind words, ~Natacha & Guidoune & Willy~ (P.S. i hope your vicky is doing good also, thank you for sharing...) |
