1 Attachment(s) altho my lil Kinzi is pint size.... in the yorkie world we don't refer to them as teacups. There is one AKC breed standard & it's a toy. could this be it??????? prices vary considerably :D |
http://teatreasures.com/page/Tea-Sup.../Teacup-Saucer Your looking from about $7.50 to $60.00 (sorry I couldnt resist lol) |

please never purchase a "tea cup" if they refer them to this. no respectable breeder will ever use such a term. yorkie standard size is not to exceed 7lbs. and if you look at our forum, you will see where people have come to our site w their newly purchased "tea cup" that is very ill and they want advise from us. please choose your breeder carefully |

i wouldnt pay more than $10 |
Yes, there is no such thing as a "teacup" but to kind of answer your question.... If you are looking for a smaller sized yorkie (just go by the parents) Ask to see the parents or how big the parents were....you have a rough estimate with that. Instead of price, look for a quality breeder (such as a family doing it out of their home) as a pet store (which you should avoid anyways) will be outrageously expensive! (in the couple thousands) |

They are usually priced about $1500and up. Some people have got them lower than that but when i have looked thats the price they usually start at. There is a website that even has them at 10,000. Your usually going to pay alot more than you would a standard yorkie |

Unfortunately, these so-called teacups are showing more and more cases of liver shunt and/or encephalitis. Both potentialy fatal. Go for health and vigor, not size. Remember that we should love with our heart, not our eyes. |
It always annoyes me when people stop & say oooohhhhh what an adorable little "Teacup"......I say she aint no "Teacup" thats something you drink outa in case ya did not know:D Minnie is (3) yrs old & others will ask if shes a puppy:aimeeyork |

after doing some reading on this breed i learned that there is no such thing as "teacup" either but it doesn't keep the people selling these dogs from calling them that! people that are not aware are sold! romeo is small and his parents are both tiny dogs, too. he weighed 1.8 pounds at his first vet appointment on the 8th and she told us he would get no bigger than 4 - 4.5 pounds. no one has asked if he is a "teacup" but i will make sure to tell them that this term is so incorrect! |

just correct him or her nicely and tell them how much a refered to "teacup" as newbies or sellers call them( actually a tiny dog is what you should properly say) usually costs. they can range from about 1000 to about 10000 read up on it tho before you buy! |
