Question about registering
 
I have a friend who has a 3 year old male who is only 2 pounds and she is wanting to stud him out now (to me and another friend of mine). Anyways, back when her husband bought the dog, he didnt even ask anything about papers. Now my girl is AKC and so its the other female but with the male not having papers, is there anything we could do or can we get him papered?:confused:

you can't register him without the proper paperwork from the breeder. Also, a two pound male should not be bred.

Have they tried to contact the breeder to ask? That would be where you'll have to go. Without the paperwork from them (if it is registerable) I don't think it can be registered. :confused:

Well its a long story but here is the basis of it... The owner of the little male .. her husband acquired him from another friend whose parents kept him OUTSIDE but refused to get rid of him so their son gave him to the husband knowing they would treat him wonderful. So.. he couldnt ask for the papers b/c then his parents would know he got rid of him (when actually he was doing the Yorkie a favor). He is AKC but there is no way of getting the papers from them without blowing their sons cover. (And YES he is an adult, 30something.. not a 12 yr old boy who got rid of the dog) LOL

Call or check www.akc.org they may be able to help you. Does the friend know where his parents got the Yorkie?

I think there is too much wrong with this scenario to get the AKC papers. And if you do get the papers, if you stud this 2# dog, you could injure him permanently. JMHO

I didn't know that! Can I ask how they get injured? Just curious.. and being nosy... I didn't know small males can get hurt.

They can if the person breeding them doesnt have a brain STEM but according to some members here, they are the only ones who are allowed to breed.

you are so rude. i didn't think any of the posts regarding breeding your two pound male was rude to you. You are gonna do what you are gonna do anyway. Wether you post more or not is up to you too. but, when you post about breeding a two pound male you need too expect others opinions. if you didn't want to hear them, you should have only posted your registration question. you could have left out the part about your two pound male. that clearly shows lack of education and research.

No YOU are the rude one. You and your handful of people here who think they are the 'holiest' of breeders and are teh only ones allowed to do such. I am very much educated and have done plenty of research. Its just a shame that there are people as miserable as yourself have to stalk posts trying to throw out their unsolicited advice. No one asked your 'opinion' on breeding, my question was for REGISTRATION. Maybe your the one who lacks the education.;)

Studding a 2 lbs male is not a good idea. It was good advice. If you insist on going ahead, consider lemon laws in your state and other issues.
A 2 lbs male could very well have health issues that may not be exhibited at the moment and may never but could carry them and could very well pass those on.
How much responsibility are you willing to take on if puppies are born? Will you refund the purchase price to the new owner of a puppy if it has problems? What if they end up paying thousands of dollars in vet bills which is not uncommon in very tiny Yorkies.
Of course there is no guarantee the resulting progeny will be tiny, however, I would strongly discourage using such a tiny male for breeding based on the fact that he would be considered to be a very poor representative of the breed. This is not considered to be responsible breeding by true fanciers of the breed.

ONCE again, THIS IS NOT MY DOG. Its my friends male and I was considering breeding it with my female but since there are NO PAPERS it wont be happening. However, if the papers were there, I would do so. And yes I take responsibility for the puppies I would have.
