I think it is up to you to decide . Zsa Zsa have a short coat , Jade have a long coat .

Tucker is 5 months and just got his first haircut. I buzzed it all off except his head, the groomer kept it a bit longer. Very easy to maintain. It is hot in Mississippi, and I think he is happier. I think he looks cute but I am looking forward to fall when I can let it grow out again. I think it is nice the you can go short or long with Yorkies haircuts. They are adorable either way.

If you want to try a short cut for the heat, that's great. I'm sure your baby would love it!! If you don't like it that way, you can always let it grow back out.

we live in Paradise, ca it is located between sacramento & redding. and it does get hot! 102- 104, I recently just had sami's very first (5mo) coat cut it is easier to maintain and will be cooler for him! Tilly (10yrs) I always have her cut short It's just to hot for them to have a long beautiful coat..

I cut both my yorkies hair before and it grows back out in a few months. I just cut their hair again, I was really fond of their long hair but I felt bad for them with this summer heat. So they are both sporting a summer cut ;) I figure it will grow out again by fall..

This was my first post and I appreciated everyones response. I've taken Ozzy to the groomer once and they shaved him ! and it was during the winter so now that it finally grew back i dont want to cut it, but Maybe i will just trim it a little. THANKS AGAIN!

Grooming Question
 
Maggie's hair is just now beginning to grow. She's 12 weeks old. My question is how do you clean the hair on their muzzle while bathing them, or even on an everyday basis? She roots her nose through everything, but I don't know what is safe to clean it with.

Spydergurl I would love to get together. My little baby doesnt have anyone to play with. He's too small to play with our other dogs. And my cousin has a puppy but he is way too rough for him. Just let me know when you guys want to get together.

Mare is almost 17 weeks and her fur is getting all tangled up - it was the same with Kali - no matter what I did it got tangled - and was untangletable - I tried several products...

Now I will simply wait until the tangles are grown so far out that I can cut them off - she will have a nice short summerhaircut :)

EDIT: Misread your post - didn't see the word muzzle - don't clean her muzzle - she does that herself :)
