| This was a hit at my other dogs birthday party BOW WOW BIRTHDAY CAKE ( 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder 1/2 cup Margarine, softened 1/2 cup Corn oil 1 Jar strained beef or liver baby food (2 1/2-ounce) 4 Eggs 3 Strips dog beef jerky, crumbled (optional) Plain yogurt , peanut butter or cottage cheese, for icing Sift flour and baking powder together; set aside. In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, cream margarine until smooth. Add corn oil, baby food and eggs; mix until smooth. At low speed, gradually beat flour mixture into beef mixture until batter is smooth. Fold in beef jerky. Pour batter into well-greased and floured 8"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 325F. oven 70 minutes. Let cool on wire rack a few minutes before removing from pan to cool completely. Yield: 1 (8") loaf cake. -I iced it with a combination of yogurt and peanut butter. Wealso wrote his name on it with cheese in a can (squirty cheese).

| Here are some recipes I found from another thread!! http://www.party-photo-favors.com/do...ke_recipes.htm http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...43&postcount=1 http://www.ljcfyi.com/ljcsProjects/cooking/dogCake.html 4 cups oat bran 2 1/2 cups unbleached flour 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1 egg 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (the kind that has to be kept in the fridge,) 2 1/2 cups buttermilk. (I just posted a recipe for doggie cake, but here is another really good Kennel cakes that's easy and they love it.) preheat oven to 375 degrees. mix oat bran, flour and baking soda in a large bowl. Add egg, oil, honey, peanut butter and buttermilk and stir. (buttermilk powder can be bought in a can. This way it lasts a very long time.) Fill a greased muffin tin so that cups ar two-thirds full and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center. Serve when cooled and store in a sealed container. Here is a recipie for doggie frosting.... For the Frosting 8 oz Neufchatel Cheese (lowfat cream cheese) 2 tablespoons plain yogurt 2 tablespoons honey 2-3 tablespoons flour grated carrots I found it on this page http://www.twodogpress.com/dogfood.html |
