I'm 21 and I did a lot of research before I got my Yorkie. I live on my own but I still discussed getting the dog with my parents because sometimes you need a puppy sitter, especially if you are in school. They were great and I would have never gotten Maximus with out their support because they have helped me sooo much. |
how did this turn out like this any ways??????????????????? |

No idea But it really buggs me. It went from being started for you to get some info to somewhat of an arguement. |
i have done resech on yories for 3 years now. i will get a yorkie mom and dad going to help me pay vet bills.but i have to get the yorkie by my self |
Good Luck finding one. It took me a while to save for everything and find a breeder. Have you checked the local paper for ads? |

Thats great you have shown responsibility in doing ao much research! I also agree with checking the local papers because thats how I found Max. I think this post was started with good intention and has some good info. From the youngest members to the more experienced Yorkie Owners it is always important to consult with other when trying to make a decision about getting any animal so I think it is good the question was asked. I do believe it is important for a minor to make sure they have parental support, meaning that the parents are aware that they will have to care for the dogs sometimes (everyone need help at some point!) Whether they intend to make the child do everything or not it will be in their house and share their lives. |
well it started with me just giving advice here it is jesscruz: i'm not a breeder or anything but i do have a 10 year old soon to be 11 daughter and i know that i would not allow her to have a dog until she's done with going to school. i'm an adult and it's very hard and very expensive for me to keep up with my coco and coco's my dog. of course my daughter plays with him and stuff but for a child to have full on responsability i don't know about that. i mean are you going to be able to be getting up in the early morning hours to take him out to pee?and still be able to focus on school?i'm sorry i know i sound like the typical parent it's just that i'm very strict when it comes to education for my girls and i don't want anything that's going to distract them or take away from thier homework and study time at sucha young age. 16?12?13? i know this is off topic but i was just wondering what's the majority age group on yorkietalk? then getting a reply like this rex's mom:no offense ..and you wilol be angry at me for this ...but i amm sooo glad ur not my mom! i work 1-2 hrs a day on regular hw and i go to a private school.....do u really force ur kid down and work for like 4 hrs! give them a break, poor things!!!!!!! :eek:yorkielover and recon sorry i did not mean for this to become an argument ,but i will not ever let a child tell me something like this...and me not set them straight. i mean call me old fashioned, but to me that is very disrespectful, and i know i would never ever allow my child to talk to anyone in that manner. |

You have no reason to appologize to me. I totally agree with you. I have children too. 2 boys ages 8 and 11. Dont worry. I just haven't been saying anything because I was trying to get yorkie some info and you were helpful but then some other posters added somethings that got this outta hand. Again, no worries. |
