rex's mom obviously your not getting my point, a dog is just like a baby!do you have to feed him?do you have to bath him?do you have to take him to the doctor?do you have to watch him? YES YOU DO!if you go back to the forums and listen to the adults talk about owning a yorkie you will hear all of us saying that a dog is just like having a child. p.s. good for you staci!way to go  |

Thank you I was going to add this: the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety gave the New Beetle among the best safety ratings in its class at the time of its launch. |
ok i do not know about the newer Bettles but i DO know that my 23 yr old cuzin crashed (no driving fast) into a pole with her beetle when her stering wheel buckled and now, she is in heaven |
Sorry to hear that! |
and so what..are you saying that your dog is just as important to you as your kid?!?! |
I think that a lot of people think that on this forum. They see their dogs as one of their children. I do not have any human children but I think of Cosmo as my baby. |

and your baby is a cutey! but i didnt think like if your own kid , ur flesh and blood died u would be as heartbroken as if our puppy died  i mean..lets say in some crazy world you had to give up either ur puppy or ur little kid forever..is there a chance you would pick the dog  |
I don't think that she is meaning that. She is meaning that yorkies are like children and they need lots of attention and caring. She is not saying who she would choose. We are just saying that yorkies are like children, in a sense that they have the same needs. |
im sorry to hear that :( ....... i have 3 dog outside that i have to care for and my best friend has a yorkie at her house and when i am over there im the one takeing care of him so i know the resbonsiblty of taking care of a yorkie |

I am not saying that you can not handle it, I think that everyone on here wants you to be prepared on what is to come and How yorkies are. |
it seem some people dont know how we care and love this animals. we both know we can take care of one. |
Sometimes I get tired of constantly watching my Cosmo, but that is what he needs. I am willing to do this becuase I love Cosmo. |

I dont think anyone is saying that you CAN NOT do it. |
and i have had one of my dogs for 7 years now not a yorkie |
Just my 2 cents here but I am 24 and in a steady relationship (5 years), I am basically done with my course work and am debating doctorate work...BUT now that I have Maixmus everything has taken a backseat we no longer go away for the weekend unless I can take him, we don't go out all night because i know that I have to wake up at 5 am with him and take care of HIS needs and I know that I cannot be gone for the whole day because he will be lonely and sad...I don't feel I could do this I wasn't "settled" and had someone to help me. I am NOT speaking ofr anyone else...but 4 or even 3 years ago I would not be ready for this responsibility ..it is similar to having a child..I wake up an hour earlier, feed him, wash him, brush his teeth and play with him before I even get ready...I go to work and come home and start the routine all over again..when he is sick I am awake with him and making sure he takes his medicine, or at the doctor fretting if he is okay...at 16 or 17 without your parents help..those vet bills add up big time..hey even at 24 they do..and when a teenager starts dating and hanging out then dog kinda falls into 2nd place and maybe won't receive all the attention it deserves.....lol, so I don't think that a breeder should sell to a minor UNLESS....the parents are willing to help and want the dog just as much..I read a breeders site when I was looking ans a college age girl inquired on her ques and ans. about a puppy..and the breeder flat out said I'm sorry please wait till ur done with school because you are unsettled at this point (dorm) and should be out having fun not stuck inside with your baby..finish college and then call me..I thought was great advice..a dog is at least a 10-15 year decision..just my opinion and not meant to offend |
yorkie lover........dont listen to these people...if u are commited to getting a yorkie..and if u are prepared.....get him |
