| Heat question? Sahara just came into heat and is bleeding. Is it normal to have an upset stomach? She vomited a little yesterday and now this after noon and tonight she is still vomiting. Quite a few hours inbetween, as we all slept and watched TV all day. Yesterday I thought it was maybe the apple that I gave her, she seems to love them though I think she would eat an onion with as much relish. However, She is eating and acting fine, though this last time she vomited quite a bit more which is starting to concern me. Also after the bleeding how long does the heat last? Thanks |

| I have never had one that actually vomited during their heat cycle but I have it where they would get nauseated and not wanting to eat their food. As for the heat cycle, it last about 3 weeks. The first week they are coming into their heat cycle and will start bleeding. Second week the bleeding will start to let up or may turn a brown color. This is the week you have to be super careful with because this is the week she will accept a male usually around day 10 of their heat cycle. Third week they are coming out of heat. I usually give it a month just to be totally safe.

| Thanks for the information. I just tried to put a sock on her but she thinks it's a toy, will have to make something else. She is acting just fine but I will continue to monitor her. Three weeks.... Have always had females but never with a male in the house, should be fun. |
