I don't know if I should jump for joy, scream, run around or do flips! Ok Ok Ok let me calm down and tell you all what happened to me today! I get home from work and had a strange phone # on my caller id, so I call it back and get the answering machine, so I leave a message letting them know who I am and my #.

About a hour or so later I get a call from a friend who I hadn't talked to in awhile, she tells me her and her husband has split up and getting a divorce. She has a 4 yr old Yorkie named Baby, she was not able to take Baby with her when she moved out and she left her with the soon to be ex. He calls her up and tells her she has to find a new home for Baby or he is taking her to the pound.

She says I'm the only one she could think of who is just nuts over Yorkies, but she knew I had Lillie and did not know if I would want another one. I told her I would so love to take her for her! So we talked for awhile and she is suppose to bring me Baby on Saturday!!!! Baby is 4 years old and is tiny like Lillie, and she said she is good with other dogs, so hopefully her and Lillie will hit it off! I had been hoping to find a playmate for Lillie so it's so funny how this worked out.

I'm just so ecstatic, I can't even hardly believe she is just giving me Baby! I cant wait to see her! I will let you all know asap what happens on Saturday!!!

Wow! Too bad about the divorce, but wonderful that you will be getting a new yorkie!!!! Congratulations! Can't wait for pictures! Hope they get along great!

Sorry your friend is going through a divorce, but congratulations on getting baby. So glad she thought of you. Hope all goes well.

Sad thing is, they have been married 14 years and have 2 kids.

bad situation for her but on the upside you get a new baby!

It's always the "kids" who suffer from a devorce, and pups are no different. She's going to need a lot of TLC. Congratulations and I hope it all works out and Lilllie and Baby hit it off. It might be good for Baby to have her own kind to lean on during this time of her little life.

Do you have any advice on how to introduce Lillie to Baby? I was worried about this as well. I know Baby will be very scared at 1st and on the other hand I know it's going to be hard on my friend to leave Baby. She knows she can come and see her anytime she likes. I'm just glad I can do this for her, and she knows baby will be very loved!

That's really great! How could someone take a baby to a pound!? I just don't get people at all. Keep us updated once she gets there! I hope she and Lillie become quick buds! :animal-pa

First of all congrats on the new Baby. I am sure she will bring a ton of joy to your lives.
We are also getting a new pup soon, so I asked our dog trainer how we should introduce the dogs. She suggested that the dogs should meet a couple of blocks away from home, in neutral territory and play a little. You should choose a spot that is not a part of Lillie's daily walk though. A friend or relative could be holding Baby in the designated spot, and you would walk Lillie from home. Let them meet, and after they play a bit, walk back home together, as if Lillie is inviting her new friend over. This kind of introduction apparently reduces territorial issues.

Sad for your friend. I cant imagine the pain she is going through, BUT at least she knows that Baby will be very well cared for and can see her whenever she wants to. I am sure that her and Lillie will get along great!! Congrats Missy!!! Baby is a very lucky girl!!

Ah! I'm so excited for you tomorrow. When you think about it, it's great for the new yorkie, too. She's been through quite a bit lately and just think how wonderful it will be for her to have a little friend to keep her company, too.

I feel so bad for your friend, that is never an easy thing to do. However, she gets to send her baby to a great home, you get a new baby, and the baby is going to get spoiled! It sounds just perfect. You are doing such a huge thing for her.

My husband talked to her today and she is suppose to bring baby to us Saturday around 4pm. I will let you all know how it goes as soon as Baby is all settled in. I don't want to scare her and start flasing the camera in her face, so we may have to wait a bit for photos.

I think Lillie and Baby are both very lucky, and I'm sure it will take awhile to adjust, but once they both adjust to each other, I'm sure they will love to have each others company.

Even my husband is excited, but he don't love these little dogs at all! hahaha!! LOL
