Question for members that own female yorkies.... Ok here goes..... When Lulu goes to poo she sits so low down (like when she is going to pee) that it gets stuck to her hair. I find myself constantly having to take a baby wipe to clean her behind or wash it. Does anyone elses female do this? Is there anything other than shaving her behind down that can be done? I have no idea why she has to squat so dang low. Suggestions? I am curious to see if anyone else has this problem or if Lulu is a unique chick here. |

I would think the kids that sports the shorter hair-do doesn't have this problem but my gals have longer hair and it's dingle-berry city around here! I do use the clippers and they all have very neat private areas but the hair on the legs do get in the way even when I keep that shorter by giving them layers or fringed style just on the back of the legs and the inner thighs. |
wow this just makes me so happy that morgan's hair is kept at 2 inches and shorter. LOL we've never had this problem. She poops and it comes straight out and hits the ground then she usually runs away to her next conquest. I keep the hair right around her anus really really short. funny thing, when morgan poops she does it on three legs. one of the back legs usually lifts in the process of pooping. its so funny |
Works for us I've found that by feeding a high quality dry food, poop is hard & doesn't stick to her:) |
Yeah, Chloe's little butt is pretty high off the ground and she starts walking away from it as it slides out. |
My girls usually has good firm stool too but sometimes, and I don't know if they loose their balance and plop down on their butts, but I do get clingers from time to time. |

No problems with Lex. I keep his hair fairly short but even when he squats he is high off the ground. Miss thing here is still in her baby length because she is only just turning four months. I think I will be taking her to the groomer very soon so they can cut her hair down. I have clippers and clip her myself. The poo doesn't get stuck to her legs it's her dang tail and bum. I do feed a high quality dry food. My dogs eat Merricks dry. I know right now she has a bit of a tummy upset after her shots on Saturday but some how even when she pooed regular she got stuff constantly stuck to her. She does squat so dang low...just like when she pees. Guess I will have to keep wipes stocked for her little behind. |
I searched to find a thread on this,, this very morning i got to wash 3 Yorkie hineys before 5:30 am!!!!!! my girls have the cleanest butts in town!!! lol, thank goodness we go to the groomer tomorrow, they get a day at the SPA,, i get to shampoo carpet here while they are out for hours,,,Crickets hair is long,, and rarely gets messy,, she is a low squat,, walking pooper,, it generally falls free with her wide stance and movement,, but this morning was more soft than normal,, some caught,, so,, first hiney wash,, then Daisy,, big morning poo,,and she looked so guilty,, would hardly move,, so we knew,, and yep,, some caught in the hair off her hip,, she is SUPER hairy all over,, we keep her in a puppy cut but it grows SO quickly,, so,, second hiney wash,, then Trixie,, who just has NO tail,, and her coat is really good textured,, but LONG and the hair from her back or hips ,, the poo gets caught,, this morning is was REALLY caught in the hair,, like ,, poo cant all come out,, its welded in place by all this hair!!! so,, THIRD HINEY WASH!!! and i'm like OKIE DOKIE!! & a Good Morning to you girls too!!! LOL,, so,, first up on groomers instructions in the morning,, POOP SHOOT TRIM on all 3!!!!! does anyone have any special trims ideas that work??:fallen: |
Zoe is so tiny 3.1 pounds fully grown that her bum is low anyway! Their BM is firm and non-sticky so we have not had issues here. Doggy farts, now that is my only issue with this dogfood! Zorak has these silent but DEADLY farts! |
No problems here! Mia has never had a problem with poop sticking to her tush. But, I feed her high quality dry dog food. :aimeeyork |
