This is INCREDIBLY gross, but...yeah, Sadie does sometimes have "problems" in that area...but usually, it's her mommy's fault (yep, that'd be me). You see, I have long hair...that sheds like crazy....and sometimes, lord help me, I have no idea how, but the little peanut must ingest a strand or two...and, yeah...it comes out. Am I a horrible mother? I'm gonna have to shave my head. I can't control the shedding!!!! I sweep my floors every day and vaccuum like four times a week. It has to stop!!!! Uh huh. So, Sadie sometimes has embarassing poops...but it ain't her fault, that's for sure :) |

Hi The first time this happened to Teddy, he started to avoid me. and then he started to walk around with his back hunched. That was my clue that something was wrong..Upon investigating, I found the poor little guy was in a real mess.It took me a while to clean him up, as his fur was all stuck together, and he didn't want me to touch him. Guess he was scared that it would hurt. Now, I ask the groomer to make sure the hair is trimmed short in that area, and if I find him keeping a low profile or avoiding us, I know what is wrong. ( Tootsie has never had this problem.) Janelles |
Ruby will get some on her when she is due to go to the groomers, so like the week before her appt I feel like I am cleaning her all the time and jus dying for her to get trimmed back there for what my groomer calls a "sanitation area cut" other than that it does not usually stick to her. She eats merrick dry food. |
Haha I am so glad I found this thread, especially today! We had an appointment at the vet at 8am this morning to get KaCee's rabie shot. Of course, we hit snooze one too many times and by the time we pull ourselves from bed, we have hardly no time at all to get ready. While I'm getting dressed, the BF takes KaCee out to potty. And of course, probably since she knows we are running behind , half of her poop gets caught in her hair. Immediatly she sits down and starts scooting to get it unstuck. Now it's plastered to her hinny!! Blake, the BF hollars for me to come help him so I'm holding her up in the air and he's wiping poo from her butt. It was the worst smelling poo I have ever smelt and I've grown up on a farm with cattle, pigs and sheep! Both of us are gagging, it smelled so bad! Finally we couldn't wait any longer or we'd be late for the appointment so we grabbed a blanket and wrapped her stinky butt up in it. First thing, I told the vet about her poo problem and he said it was nothing to worry about, a little poo wouldn't bother him. I unwrapped her and he about gagged! I could of died  Needless to say, soon as we got home she got a bath and a butt trim! |
Poohie Bumm Hair All but one of my babies are in long hair and for along time I had the same problem... Now what I do is do like a french braid down both back legs, this keeps the hair away from the bumm area and thus clean. I do the same thing when I breed one of my girls... I french braid their hair down both sides and along the top of her back. The hair stays out of the babies way and when the puppies are whelpped my girl still has her gorgous coat. Terri |
i have to say i dont have this problem...i think once it was stuck and i had to clean her..but other then that it comes right out but after i always clean her with a wipe so her butt is nice and clean and so she can sit and play |

My girls do the same thing. I keep their potty areas shaved down. That's seems to help a lot. |
