I've had comments a couple times when someone has seen Tatum that are similar. "Mine is/was much smaller than her". Tatum is a very proportionate 5 whopping pounds. She's not huge but yes, there are smaller ones out there. Why is that so important to some people that they have to comment about it?? Good idea to just walk away. I wonder what a mother would say if I walked up with my little petite 10 year old and told them that their daughter sure was fat.... MINE is much smaller.... maybe she's a teacup??? :D |
Another funny thing, it's not just other people that actually HAVE a yorkie. Mine are both on the larger side, they are the perfect size for ME, but I always have the people that KNOW someone else with yorkies and yes, they are always MUCH MUCH smaller. So? and your point is? I just don't care anymore, I have heard it so often. I just tell them yes, mine are larger, and I like the size they are...and they always agree and say something nice then. Whatever. That is funny about the little girl, daughter comment though. It's funny people will be rude about your dogs, thank goodness our children (for the most part) are still off-limits. If they only knew alot of us consider our dogs "our children". I also like the Ignorance is bliss comment! That was too funny too! |

Another one for you..........I have had people aske me (more than once) if my poodle is a teacup? I say, nope.........she's a toy poodle. They ask what's a toy poodle and seem puzzled.........:doh34: There seems to be a VAST confusion in the general public :tongue012 |

I would have just said "good for you" and walked away. |

You know that is so true!!!! I have a tpot and a baby right now. Who knows what my baby will turn into but I am fine with it. A bit more weight will be good so I can have a piece of mind. My breeder friend told me once about someone that literally counted the amount of kibble they served their pup per serving. I have to assume that this person also has an eating disorder they are projecting on to the poor animal. |
I have only had one person asked me if my bella was a teacup. I just told her there is no such thing as a teacup dog. Any one who uses that word to sell a puppy, is only trying to up there price and before she gets a small dog, of any kind, make sure she look into the breed and the standers of the breed before she buys one. She didnt like my answer.. she said all you had to say was no... I was like ok then.. there is no such thing, SO NO!! and walked off. |

I had to educate a licensed vet tech once on "no such thing as teacup":D Seems to me a licensed vet tech should know there is no such thing! |
Maybe she just wanted to tell you that hers was smaller? I would have just taken it has her trying to make conversation and be friendly (even if she isn't properly educated on the term "teacup). |
People are really losing their minds over the size of these dogs. 3 lbs is big, what a joke!! The other day I was in Petsmart and was told my 2 lb. Pia was big, LOL and Trixie was even worse at 5 lbs and my poor pekingese was called hideous :( People can be so ignorant and you were the better person for walking away. ;) |
wow the only thing i worry about Bizkit is his health, just were did the size of a dog become important to ppl. i just dont know about some ppl must not have a life. |
