Disney World in Florida?? Have any of you gone with your baby?? We are planning a trip to DisneyWorld in Florida might be next month:D. As some of you know I have Tinkerbell and Chiquito, and I would like to know if any of you have ever taken a trip there and did you have a problem getting a hotel?? I know when we got here to this military town they wouldn't take 2 dogs:eek: They told me I could only have one in the room:mad: of course I sneaked them in anyway:D I told one of managers that my 2 dogs(3 1/2 lbs and 5.6 lbs) equal one dog:rolleyes: of course he didn't go for that:mad: I did feel uncomfortable:( snicking them in but oh well, I had to do it for my babies:D My problem is I most likely be leaving most of the day:( Do you have any suggestions?? |
You lucky going to Walt Disney World. I went in Octoberand we are going back this Octber again. I cant wait. Anyway call around in Orlando i know there are Pet friendly hotels therre. Also disney World has a kennel. The only downfall is you have to go there everyday 2 times a day and walk your dogs. We didnt know if we woud be able to do that so we kenneled ours at home |
I know that all LaQuinta Inns take pets:D So do any MastersLodge. If you're going to be leaving them all day to go to the parks anyway, it may be better to have a family member watch them while y'all go. Do you have anyone that can do that for you? They do have a doggy sitter at the resorts there, but I bet it's super expensive:eek: Good luck, and enjoy your trip:D |
Thanks guys for the info. Actually I wish I had family to watch them but we are in Texas because we are military so no family here:( Most of my family lives in California, Oregon, Idaho and Mexico:( too far. I dont feel my babies would do well if I were to leave them in a kennel:confused:. I mean how do kennels work anyway?? Sounds scary to me:confused:. Maybe someone would like have them over for a week:rolleyes: J/K!!! |
Well I dont know how other kennels work but Our groomer kennels our dogs for us and she keeps them in her house. We also looked into a doggy daycare that kennels |
We stayed at the Sheraton Safari a few years back and they allowed pets. However, I didn't leave her there when we went to the parks. My son lives in Orlando and works at Disney, so I left her at his apartment. They do have kennels at the parks..but I have heard bad stories...I wouldn't leave my pet there. Now when we go down we always rent a house...it is usually cheaper than a hotel believe it or not and there are a lot of pet friendly homes included. Here is the link for the homes. The rate they give you is all you pay, no taxes on top of that...which in FL taxes on a hotel room are over 15%. http://www.villas2000.com/frbvo/central_pf.php Please PM me if you would like more info! |

Thank You, Thank You!!! You are so right!! It is cheaper, than a regular hotel:thumbup: I just clicked on one and I saw the magic words "Pets allowed" lol. I hope I find something:thumbup: |
Good! The link that I posted are all for pet friendly homes. I hope that you find something. We have done this twice...as recently as last Thanksgiving. You are about 10 minutes from the parks. |
Cheaper and you get your own pool!! |
I live a few hours away and I could watch them if you would like. My cousin used to be at Fort Hood and I have been there a few times. That is a very boring town...haha. |
I'm sooooo jealous!!!!!! |
We are taking our skin kids in July to Disney World. BUt we are staying in clearwater and just driving to Disney World for the day. We arent taking out dogs because their would be no room for our human kids!!:p Anyway you might consider a small condo, house, or apt. I looked into alot of them in just the last few days and many said pet friendly or inquire the owner about bringing pets. More options with these places then hotels for sure I noticed. We wanted a place right on the beach, so if you do too, you might find something you like and book it quick! I had a heck of a time finding what we were looking for because everything was being booked up already!! We havent taken a vacation in forever so I didnt realize finding a place we wanted would be such a challenge 5 month in advance. Anyway we are booked and ready!! |

no problem...if you can't find a place or change your mind just let me know. Benji and Bella would love the company! My cousin and her Husband got transfered to Fort Rucker, AL last year and I went and visited them. Now that place is worse that Fort Hood. There is nothing at all there. |

Ft. Hood is the biggest military post, we have been stationed in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma:confused: nothing to do, unless you go to OK City:p. South Korea:p it was ok, and here TWICE:eek:. So far I like Ft. Hood better than those other places:p. We were supposed to go to Ft. Bragg in NC, but got our orders changed last minute. I heard is not fun there:rolleyes:. |
yes, Bella is a maltese. I love having the two of them. Bella is more of a lap dog but she still does play a lot. Benji has calmed down a lot ever since we got her. Man oh man....you guys have been all around. Is your husband in the army? The only bad thing about Ft. Hood is that a lot of people get deployed out of there. Both my cousin and her husband were deployed to Iraq twice in a 2 1/2 year stay there. Both times were for a year too. That is why I am happy they are at Ft. Rucker now even though I can't see them as much. |

My husband is in the army going on his 14th year now:eek: !! Yes that is a downside to Ft. Hood, deployments:(. So far we have been lucky and he hasn't been to Iraq yet, Thank GOD!!! but that can change anytime:(. I think they are getting ready to go next year, it's the worst thing about the military, not only are you away from your loved ones but you never know what will happen:(. I am glad your cousin and husband are back safe and with no further deployments:thumbup:. |
This site has a lot of information on taking the dogs to Orlando. http://www.dogfriendly.com/server/tr...LOrlando.shtml |
I'm not sure about Florida.. but when I visited Boston w/the furkids.. they were not allowed to be unattended at all in the hotel even though there was no limit on the # of animals. They would arrange a pet sitter to stay w/them while I was away.. but with the expense of that plus my trip it was probably a better option to find someone who could watch them for me here. :) Good luck! |
I live about an hour north of Disney with my husband and 2 furbabies. I understand the problems in being gone all day to a park. When my grandkids come, I deal with finding people to come over to be with them throughout the day. I'd be happy to keep them for you if it will help. You'll be too tired to come and get them at night so if you want me to keep them for the week I can do that. Just pm me and let me know. |

Oh, and at the disney kennels, you have to walk your dog i think every 3 hours? or 3 times a day? and there are tons of big dogs there! When i went during x-mas, we decided not to keep him in the kennels though. |
