lets just say that you are not along on this one! my list is much too large for a single post. funny thing about it is I have 4 and only one gives me the chewing , destructive problems. |
When I first started reading this post I thought oh how lucky that my :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork are little angels. Then the memories started returning (senior brain here!)as I kept reading. Jilly:aimeeyork ate the middle out of an antique braided rug and chewed a speaker wire cord on our surround system that my hubby still doesn't know about. Jack:aimeeyork and Kenzi :aimeeyork are the angels. |
Little Bit loves to chew the woodwork and will rip to shreds any papers she finds but the biggest problem I have is that she will use any throw rug I try to put out for a puppy pad. Nothing but bare floors in any room she is in. |
LOL, this is a great thread! :lol2: Memories are starting to flood in...let's see, when Ginger was a pup, she destroyed: 1. SEVERAL computer cords/mouse cords etc., 2. My brand new pair of glasses:eek: 3. The corner of the tv cabinet 4. Every single bed she had for the first several months (you'd think I would've stopped buying her new ones! 5. Corners off of MANY books I'm sure there is more, I think I TRIED to forget!! Even as a fully grown and mature 2 year old she is still obsessed with our toilet paper. I will probably never get to hang a roll again! |
Oh my goodness, where do I begin......I am sure this list doesn's even begin to cover it but here goes.... 1. They have chewed several holes in my walls. 2. Ruined my new carpet because they arent potty trained completely. (sure glad I spent all that extra money to upgrade and get the best. That was before I knew I was going to start getting yorkies) now I get to rip it all out and put down hardwood floors. 3. Chewed virtually all of the cords to every piece of electrical equipment we own. 4.Chewed up 2 playstation hand controls 5. Chewed up the backing on all of the throw rugs. 6. Most of my shoes are chewed up. 7. Any wicker baskets are gone now 8. 4 of my homemade stuffed animals are eaten and stuffing scattered everwhere. 9. Their little couch and all of their stuffed toys had the stuffing yanked out. 10. Buttons on any of my nice sweaters that I take off and leave on the floor at night when I go to bed get chewed along with any bras. They only chew the nice one, dont waste any time on the old worn out ones. 11. Chewed three pair of glasses up. My husband hasnt firgure out you cant leave them on the end table yet. And yet each time they do it his response is " I cant believe they chewed up another pair of glass" H-E-L-L-O!!!! 12. Several books, games, DVD jackets 13. Got into a pkg of tea light candles and chewed all of them up. 14. My comforter on my bed has snags all over it since they seem to think they need to dig a spot to lay in when ever they go to bed. No use replacing it they will do it again. I am sure there is more and it isnt over yet but wouldnt trade them for the world. When I first moved in I wouldnt even let people come in with out taking their shoes off for fear of getting my house dirty but now who cares....... |
Well hmmmmm lets see 1. ate several shoes 2. ate a hole in the wall 3. ripped the wallpaper 4. chewed a hole in my leather love seat!!! NOT HAPPPY ABOUT THAT ONE! 5. Destroyed my blinds 6. have chewed on several stuffed animals of my daughters 7. ate the arms off the daughters barbie dolls For the small part its been tiny things................................. |
wow..what a list everyone has...:D Mine chewed 1. Chord/line connecting the tv to the speakers..It was totally disconnected. 2. Laptop electrical chord. 3. The room door. 4. His bone pillow. Took all the stuffing out. 5. Vibrating mouse cat toy. Took some stuffing out as well but still working. 6. Many rolls of toilet paper. Hubby always forgets to not leave it on the toilet roll holder which sits pretty low. Thank God for now, that is about it. |

LOL Thank heavens there's more little devils out there. I was beginning to think I had the only Yorkie Phsyco! Those stories were very funny. What we put ourselves through for these little ones. Who's the real nut here?:p Thanks for sharing. Carol & Buddy |
Ours aren't too bad but we have had a few incidents... 1. A pair of stuffed frogs sitting on the guest bed are now minus their eye's. 2. My husband's cell phone case has the corner chewed off. 3. Cooper chewed one of my mother's new shoes when she came to visit for for Christmas. He only chews our shoe laces, never our shoes, he went hole hog for hers, though...oh yes, forgot, I have lost a few flip flops. 4. Burt's Bee's Lip Balm, I lose those on a regular basis, You'd think I'd remember to put them in the drawer  5. My comforter on my bed had a nice big rip in it and some stuffing out of it, where they dig, dig, dig. 6. A Play Station controller wire, we did hide that one from our son  7. Many, many, many socks and then more socks!! 8. And last, but most certainly not least, Cooper can unzip bags, and we had a friend who visited us that works for the DEA. He had put his gun away and zipped it up in his bag. Cooper got it out and had it under our bed   |
The gun!!!!I hope it wasnt loaded. That is a scary thought. |
Mine haven't really destroyed anything to mention. The only thing that I was upset about was "one of them" chewed a tassle off of a shoe. A lot of chap sticks have been chewed up, and eye drops. Also "someone" tears up napkins, paper towels and an occasional business card or store receipt. We seldom catch the culprit in action so we're not sure which one is doing it. If I were to guess, I would say DAISY! She is a stinker. Teddy has more of an "angel" personality. But you never know. |
Well -- we've only had Mattie for 4wks tomorrow and he's 12wks old and already he has gotten into my quilting batting and tore wholes in it. But bigger than that my husband was watching him -- or he said he would -- when he chew a whole in our carpet. He was sleeping when I left so my husband thourhgt he was okay and left him unattended. When I came home there was a nice whole in our living room carpet. I figured my husband was going to be really upset but he surprised me and said that it was his fault  and we could cover it up with a throw rug. But after reading some of these -- I'm going to keep a closer eye on him. |
When I lived in a rental mine chewed on all the baseboards in the kitchen which all then had to be replaced by me :) Then when we moved into the house we now own a few months ago, they decided to chew on the crown molding!! :( |
- The corner of my sofa in the denHer latest project is a corner under the cabinets in the kitchen. She gets hysterical if we so much as touch it! We don't know if she's protecting us from 'IT' or 'IT' from us. *sigh* |
Chewing I've been VERY lucky with Sadie - no chewing at all - of course she's supervised all the time when she isn't in her x-pen - BUT she does love her toilet paper, paper towels, etc. - don't know what it is about paper products!!!!! but she's in LOVE with all of them - :( |

I think yorkies just love love love TP!!! Usually, hubby forgets, Siu Pao finds it before me because my eyes can't see well just waking up from sleep, shreds it and leave a mess for me to clean. Its fun watching him shred, its no fun cleaning up the mess though and the fact that I have to always buy TP in big bags and they finish in such a short time in my household considering that there are only 2 people in this house. |

I woke up one morning and found the whole top of my bed covered with shredded toilet paper. LOL. I was trying to sleep in on a weekend and slept right through it. Next time I wont get made, I will get the camera. :D |
My darling little angel, Topher, chewed up TWO pairs of prescription glasses (mine, of course). I had just replaced them after the first chewing when he got a hold of them again and cracked the lens and ate the ear part! Needless to say I put them well out of the way now. He chewed the plugs off 1, the toaster; 2, my daughters brand new professional hair straightener, voiding the warranty; 3, the livingroom lamp; 4,another livingroom lamp; 5, something else, we're not sure yet, but we found him with the plug and we're not sure yet what it's from!;) Thank heavens these things aren't plugged in when he chews them! I have to say, though, that since we've gotten our second yorkie, Sophie, he's too busy with her to chew anything so he hasn't done any damage since she's come to live with us! She's been a blessing in more ways than we can say! :) |
lol, seriously, I can't believe how many yorkies have chewed through walls!!! I can't even imagine how that happens!:) :) :) (now that I've said that, I'll probably be finding out first hand:rolleyes: ) |
We have been so lucky with Pippa, she has never chewed or destroyed anything other than her own toys! I think maybe because from day 1 she had Jake to follow and copy and as he was 7.5 years old at that time he had already got out of detructive mode. |
Oh...forgot! A pc mouse cord. Had to call a client and tell him that work would be suspended until I replaced the mouse chewed by the Yorkie pup I bought with his money. :p |
:D Well, since we decided to keep all 3 of Lily's puppies, we have what we call.....'Triple Trouble'!!! Lily and Sabastian pretty much stuck to the normal....toilet tissue, Q-tips, and socks....not too bad, right?! Well, Reese, Saly, and Kiko love it ALL!!!!! 1. Dirty undies that they love to get out of the laundry room and drag to the livingroom.....makes it even more fun when we have company over! 2. Wood chips out of our 'fake' tree plant 3. Lots of stuffed animals...and I agree that they prefer the eyes and nose! 4. Shoes or flops......they especially love my crocs....maybe because they know that the rubber leaves teeth marks. 5. Recently they got ahold of my collection of past yearbooks......luckily they preferred only the corners! 6. They love 'roughin' up my entertainment center....mostly the corners 7. We have just found a place in our wall next to their toy box, where the paint and part of the wood have been scratched or eaten....not sure which...about the size of a softball. 8. Numerous of Christmas ornaments ripped from the tree and destroyed. 9. And last, but certainly not least.......They got ahold of a potted plant and tore the plant out and then decided that it would be even more fun to scatter and then play in all of the potted soil! Yea, black potted soil...and then drag their toys around in the black soil. And yes, some digging was involved and then pottying in the black soil!! I come home to this and could do nothing but laugh........and of course take pictures!!!:D |
Lets see the pictures of the potted soil incident. I have to add my crocs this morning became my latest casualties. Lets not chew up the $5 flip flops, let go for the $40.00 dollar crocs instead. At least my babes have expensive taste. I guess the reason they didnt chew up the flip flops is because I dont have any anymore. They already chewed them several months ago. |
Had to show off the pics!! 3 Attachment(s) Quote:

I come home to this and could do nothing but laugh........and of course take pictures!!! Oh my goodness. I forgot all about that!:p Buddy would get into the dirt from a floor plant as well. It was large so he would stand up on the pot and dig like mad with his front paws throwing dirt all over the rug! I went out and bought silk ivy to surround the plant so he couldn't get to the dirt. Of course he took pieces of ivy out and ran like the wind under the bed. I have to say raising three children was not half the work that raising Buddy to maturity was.:D Carol & Buddy:aimeeyork |
