Maybe they are just "saying" it when with the wrong person...maybe it was "given" to a friend or someone who was admiring it or possibly paid her for it???? If I was the owner I would want the body back anyhow just to make sure...say that they want to bury the body or cremate it..story sounds too bizarre for me.. Dawn |
That is terrible, who is responsible for replacing that poor ladies yorkie. Kodak is like a madman when I go to pick him up from the groomers. He jumps around frantic at the sound of my voice, just ready to go and get outta there. So there's no way I could've let without him. |
OMG! what terrible things to have happened! Im glad i groom Pippa myself! |
that has got to be one of the saddest things I've ever heard. Bandit had his first seizure at the groomer. and they didn't know. and one time when we brought Tucker there the lady goes "Oh...I heard yorkies were mean." and then she called like half an hour later saying that we had to come get him because he tried to bite her. all she did was wash him and she charged full price - and my dad being the way he is paid it. we have a new groomer now who is the most wonderful person in the world. She sends home little doggie report cards with them, and she does it out of her home. :) PS - we told Trisha (new groomer) how the old groomer said that he tried to bite her, and Trisha said that all he probably did was try to bite the brush (he did it to her too) and she was being over dramatic about it. |
My husband forbids me to leave our dogs at the groomer. Petsmart allows has express grooming, the cost is $10 extra but they work on the dog start to finish and you wait for him/her to be done. The gal at the store by me does a fairly nice job, although I'm sure there are better out there, but the peace of mind of knowing I can watch is worth the difference in quality of the job. They look very nice when they are done, but as I said I know they could probably get a better job some where else, but I have not found anyone that will allow me to wait. Most groomers want them dropped off and then you can pick them up in three or four hours. Hubby does not trust anyone and just don't want them left alone. I have to admit though that I feel the same. I'd be a wreck leaving them. Elaine. |
OMG these are all horrible stories, i took my baby Sebastian to the groomer for the first time today, usually we get a mobile grooming service to come to our house, but we were never happy with the cuts. Anyway today i wasn't happy with the cut and was worried the whole time about him. It took 4 hours to cut his hair, i think it is really disappointing that they can't cut them while your there like a hair dresser, it is ridiculous! By the way you are in no way paranoid i couldn't relax for those whole four hours and almost cried when i left him there. Lets just hope none of these truly horrific stories happen to any of us!!! :) |

My husband is the same way, and honestly, so am i. My girls have never gone to the groomer, if we had places like petsmart around here where we could wait and watch them, i would take them for a "spa day" but we don't have that here, and all the groomers that i know of won't allow us to wait for them, they want them dropped off, and picked up, and i refuse to leave my girls with any strangers. I'm positivly sure that there are excellent groomers out there that care, and are responsible, but they hard to find. How in the world can someone mistake their own dog? That's NUTS!! Surely the guy must have noticed it wasnt his? |
yea I dont understand how that happened either, I know my dogs, that sounds too weird to me. granted, they look different after they are groomed ( better) but still...weird how he didnt know it wasnt his.............. |
I'm going to use a highly recomended mobile groomer. She comes right to your house in a truck fully equipped. She sings to the babies and they love her. One of my friends can't even say her name or else the dog goes nuts at the window awaiting her arrival. |
this is so sad..if happen to me.i can;t even think....:( |

SHOCKING to say the least, but, it does sound a bit weird! I know there is no way Toby would go home with anyone else.......he's very cautious of people......and to not know you picked up the wrong Yorkie! hmmmmmm, that would never happen with me or hubby! But if it really happened, I am so sorry for that person who lost their yorkie out of the irresponsibility of the groomer. She should be compensated! I always groom both of my dogs myself.......they are safe and I'm never sorry or regretful!:) |

I am sooo impressed there are men out there who are just as concerned about their babies. I thought it was just a mom thing. :)- I do not care for petsmart groomers in my area at all, but, if they have a grooming option where I can stay, I might consider that. Also, wanted to says to yorkiepip, I love the name pippa. So cute! |
