| Chicken Soup to be Discontinued??? Hello all, I recently welcomed a new yorkie, Pebbles, into our family. She came from the breeder on Hills Science. I wanted to switch her to a more natural food when I got her, and gradually switched over to Chicken Soup for Puppy. Well to be honest, she never really seemed that crazy about it. So this week I went to the pet store and got samples of Solid Gold WeWee and Canidae. I put down 20 pieces of each side by side, and let Pebbles pick. She tried each of them, and then Continued to eat the Canidae. So that is what we are switching to. An interesting note, and thus the title of my post. When talking to the pet store guy, who seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. He said that Chicken Soup food is going to be discontinued. Yes this store also carried the Chicken Soup brand. He wasn't sure if it just wasn't making enough sales or what. It sounded like the parent brand Diamond was still going to be available. On a side note I thought it was odd when I saw a post here a little while back about someone who requested a Chicken Soup sample, and they sent them a Diamond sample and info on Diamond brands. While this is not definitive info from the company, the pet store guy did seem knowledgeable. I know a lot of people on here use Chicken Soup, so I hope it is not true. Just wanted to give a heads up. Maybe someone can contact the company to verify this? Joe |

| I recently requested samples and they sent both Chicken Soup and Diamond. I hope it is not discontinued as mine seem to be eating it well. If they do, I will get Canidae too as mine ate that well and I liked the product. I just do not have a local source for the Canidae but I could order it. Innova was one of our favs too -- they did not seem to eat as much of it but maybe it is more concentrated. That would be my luck -- after all the taste testing and label comparisons, we pick one that is being discontinued. Ah well, que sera sera.

| Very interesting. Well, I have been wanting my furkids to try the Chicken Soup as I hear people rave about it on this site. Mine eat Life's Abundance and am very pleased. However, my vet suggested that I have 2 high quality foods to 'rotate' them on. Mine are NOT picky and will anything I feed them (it's a plus). I emailed Chicken Soup and they called me (they ask for your phone # when contacting them). The lady sent me a sample of the puppy, adult and kitty food...........when I got the box yesterday I got 7 oz baggies with lots of Diamon info (which I did not even know they existed). The rep never mentioned to me they were discontinuing the brand but I too find it interesting that they sent me that. Jess

| Also, I forgot to mention. The retailers that sold it.........no longer carry it. That is why I requested the samples or else I would have bought a bag and if push came to shove, would have donated it to the shelter I volunteer in.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | That's funny because when I tried to find it, six of the distributors listed on the manufactures web site no longer carried it. I finally found it, mine didn't like it though. Nancy |

| THis is a little disappointing. I feed mine a mixture of Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers' Soul and Canidae All LIfe STages. I guess I can just switch them completely over to Canidae if the Chicken Soup is discontinued. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Perhaps, many distributors are not carrying anything made from Diamond because certain brands of their dog food have contained a contaminated toxin that lead to many deaths. Dogs in 22 states have died as a result of ingesting this brand's product that has been contaminated with Afatoxin. Even though Chicken Soup was not on the list of brands that contained the grain contaminated with Afatoxin, (CS doesn't contain corn) many people still believe the company is irresponsible. This could account for some distributors not carrying it anymore. I'm quite sure the company is still making it though. You can google Diamond Dog foods for more information. This link carries good information. http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/diamond.asp Nancy |

| I hope they arn't discontinuing Chicken Soup. I hope it is just the store that was discontinuing it. I went through several brands of high quality dog food to find one that they all liked really well. Please let me know what you guys find out if they reply to your email. I hope they arn't discontinuing it, they are sooo many people who buy it for their dogs.
