I will never have only one yorkie again!!!
 

It hasn't even been two weeks, and already and don't know how we got along without Bernie.

Ginger plays soooooo much with her new brother, I know she never got that much play in before!

So, I thought we'd start a list of why having more than one yorkie is a great thing! (Copy and paste my list and add to it, let's see how long we can make it)

1. Two yorkies play together really well.
2. Twice as many snuggled up against you in front of the tv.

I can't believe the difference either. My two are rough-housing half the day. Which is good cause when they wear out the other half of the day is for cuddling!

3. When one is cuddling up on hubby's lap, there is still one for me!
4. Twice the puppy kisses!

They Kiss each other and melt you !!! This is Chanel and Cheri over the last 2 years - they LOVE each other so much and when they kiss each other - I get triple the action just by sticking my face in there lol -

And......They even bring you the phone !!:D

and when you have 2.... they work out their differences with thought and perception LOL :D :D

My favorite thing about having two yorkies are lots of yorkie kisses. There also is nothing sweeter than having two snuggled up to you.

I SO agree !! I could post on this all day lol -

having 2 means fun games like 'FOLLOW THE LEADER' lol -

People think I am crazy but try 4.....:p I wouldn't get have it any other way....:p With Lexie being the queen she is always looking out for them...:rolleyes:

Thank you sooooo much for this post. I go tomorrow to pick up my baby girl. I really want one for ME, but was afraid about how Jeter's feelings would be with a new little sister. I don't want him to feel slighted. Thanks for the reassurance about 2.

Vilette... I LOVE your photos... it helps that you have such beautiful dogs, but you capture the moment so well! I can't WAIT to have more than one...

I felt the same way you do - I didn't even WANT another cause I loved having Chanel all to myself - but now I can't imagine my life without either - and they can't either.....

They DO get jealous sometimes - but with the right amount of kissing and reassurance - they come around :) .....it helps when the puppy is big enough to really play with - My Chanel's little nose was very bent out of shape for about 2 months of getting Cheri but they really are best friends now.

Oh you will be so happy with two. My breeder was thrilled when I got a second one from her because she said yorkies do better in pairs

I worried about this too. And Ginger did pout for a day or two, but now they're inseperable! We're ALL happier (and we thought we were pretty happy with the way things were before)

Vilette you have the best pictures, and your captions are so funny. I love all of the multiple yorkie pictures...makes me want another...nothing like those multy kisses all at once. Gotta love em!!

Awww, mine haven't started that yet. I'll be watching for it!!!

They will soon!! Mine kiss each other every morning, at bedtime i tell them "say nitynite" and they kiss again, it's so freaking CUTE!

Ohhh what sweet pictures. I can't wait until mine become best pals. Reesie loves to play with Abbie, but I think she's playing the mom role since Abbie is still a baby. Reesie is doing a great job teaching her manners...:)

Congrats Shaylynn, I get my little girl in a few weeks. I am hoping Kodak doesn't mind, and this post makes me feel a lot better.

Maggie and Kizzy have a phone just like that. They play with it some but not a lot, but their actions make me think a lot of your dogs. They chase each other, kiss on each other and go to sleep with each other all curled up one behind the other. So I know they love each other. If their outside and I call them in, maggie will usually come faster than kizzy, but once she sees kizzy isnt coming in and I open that door to call her again, maggie runs right back out and waits at the top of the steps for her, but she lays in wait for her and as soon as kizzy gets up to her, she attacks her then they both run into the house happy as little kids.

LOL CUTE !!! My girls do the same way with the AMBUSH at the door - they really do act like little kids - I can't imagine not having 2 :)

V, I swayer, I fall in love with those girls more everytime I see them.... I LOVE the patchwork dresses..... chanel's hair is so pretty, u sure she doesnt have extensions? LOL

I LOVE having two babies... I actually have 5 but only two are yorkies and you can definitely see their attachment to each other is stronger, they look for one another all the time... it is so cute to see(except when Tootie is trying to eat Hopey's hair bows.. LOL

what a great thread... we were really thinking of getting layla a sister... but thrusday i went to pick her up at the babysitters who got a new puppy (Labradoodle) so i picked the puppy up to say hi and get some of those puppy breath kisses and layla was so upset.. she climbed up my leg and my heart broke... i felt just horrible all day and decided i just coudln't get her a sister... do you think this behaviour was because i was holding the puppy?? or maybe she just missed me all day... i am so confused about what to do :confused: :confused: :confused:

I can remember the day we brought Seymour home. At first he seemed a bit nervous, and Shelby kind of sniffed around him and was careful not to get too close...... Within hours, Seymour thought his "Big Sissy" was the best thing ever. He followed her around ( and she always was making sure that he was following her). They really are a team! (a little more work for me & hubby with 2x the toys, baths, grooming...... but also 2x the unconditional love!..... )

Thank you! You also took the words right out of my mouth. This is the ONLY thing I have been worried about with Stedman - well, that AND the fact that he is a TOTAL momma's boy, and I don't know how he is going to feel about sharing me :rolleyes: Also, I have always been so scared that I could NEVER love another one as MUCH as I love Stedman, BUT - this thread has really helped ease some of those fears! :D :thumbup:

I, too, was hesitant to get another because Cooper was just everything to me and my husband and we worried he would be too jealous and that we could never love another dog as much as Cooper, it just wouldn't be possible and that wouldn't be fair to the new dog. Then I got to thinking that Cooper needed another dog to play with and I happened to come across a little girl that was 6 months old and already spayed and microchipped and it all just kinda fell together and worked out. Well, Cooper, who wasn't a big fan of other dogs (well, he would like them after a while, but it would take a lot of time) well, he seemed to take to Carley right away, which really surprised me. They just play together all the time and you can tell he really loves to have another little doggie his own size to play with. As for my husband and me, well we fell right in love with her too, (who woulda thunk?). I too will never have just one yorkie again, I will always have two! Carley will come in the house first too, but then will go back outside and "wait" for Cooper. They have never been apart since we got her, and I think one would be lost without the other. Carley really is the best thing we could have ever done for Cooper.

When you have to leave for a little while theres aways one to keep the other one from getting lonely.
When your not feeling well and cant play they have each other to play with.
