Our Little Hero Max.... I just thought you might like to hear a story of a yorkie saving a life since so many of us have saved yorkies lives, they can save a life too. We live in the country on an acre in N.M. where the Navajos live and they love their goat meat(to greasy for me). We have some Navajo neighbors who have goats. My Max is all boy. He goes to do chores and if there is a mud puddle he will go through it, he is all boy. It wasn't time for chores but Max kept running to the door to go do chores. We just figured he wanted to go since we had made him stay in the last couple of days because it has been soo coold. I got my coveralls on and told my hubby I was going to do chores and Max was coming too since it was alittle warmer today. Well, we went out and Max ran for the barn just barking and raising heck, looking I saw all my animals and just figured he was excited.I went into the barn and all this time Max is just all over, then I hear this sound like someone strangling. I followed Max to back of barn and there caught in the fence, just not long from death is a goat with his horns stuck in the fence standing on his tiptoes. I jumped fence to hold him up and wondered how I was going to get him out. I looked at Max and gave him my glove and told him "Go get Dad" I didnt really know if he would do it or not but it was my only shoot as I had to keep this goat on his feet. He took my glove to my hubby who thought it was me hurt and came running. We got the goat safely out and called the owner cause he was not in good shape. When everything was over, the neighbor came over with the biggest Tbone steak you have ever seen all cooked and garnished for a King. Turns out this was a Champion Billy worth some big bucks and they were so thankful. So our little Max is a Hero. So now because I do have bad hips and my hubby does worry when I go out I am not allowed out without my Max by my side cold or not. Dont worry he has a new sheepskin coat with hood and boots to match. I am sooo proud of him. |
