Beware Of This Breeder!!!
 

I got my baby Gia yesterday. I paid $700 for her because she had a hernia. No problem, it's fixable. Well, after I started playing with her and giving her a bath last night, I thought it was possible that she might have a roached back. b_veselka is a WONDERFUL PERSON! :D Very helpful. She knew the breeder that I got Gia from. I was able to make contact with a very reputable breeder here in my town through b_veselka and took Gia to her.

Yes, she has a roached back. I called the breeder while I was at Paula's house and told her what I found and that I wanted to bring her back. The breeder refused to take her back! She started arguing with me and I told her fine, I'll just turn her in as a breeder that sells dogs that aren't worth a da**. Mind you, I was very upset at this point. All yorkies are precious but I was planning on breeding Gia and I don't want to now because of her back.

The breeder called me back and said that there was nothing wrong with her. I reminded her that I had noticed that not only does she have a roached back (strike #1), but she also has a slight underbite (strike #2) and her hernia (strike #3). I have not even had this dog 24 hours.

The breeder's name is KATHARINE ENDRESS She lives in ODEM TX Do not buy from this lady. She even lied to me about the mother's size!! :mad:

I am going to sell her as pet quality with limited registration. I'm going to charge what I paid for her. $700 is a good price for a pet quality pup. The breeder doesn't want her back! She was just a nasty person!

I bought Mya from a woman who bought her with intention to breed her with her male.
Her male hated Mya and so she sold her to me. I made sure we had a 24 hour vet check agreement before paying for her. I wondered why I was getting a bargain and if the story was true about her male (she did in fact show me her male's reaction to her) I was lucky that Mya is perfect in every way. My vet is the same vet for provincial champion. I feel extra lucky as she would not give up Mya's papers. Will you disclose to the next purchaser why you no longer want the puppy?

My Baby was also sold to me at a discount because she had a hernia, but it was on a spay contract. I have heard that hernias are genetic...so you really wouldn't want to breed a pup with a hernia anyways. Well good luck and let us know whenever you find her a good home!

Before I got Sydney I had fallen in love with another yorkie on Sydney's breeders web-site. When I explained I hoped to breed someday she quickly told me that the puppy I had been interested in would not be good because of a hernia. She explained the same thing that a puppy with a hernia would not be good for breeding.

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your dog and all of the problems you are having with her breeder. I hope that you find her a good home. I try to learn as much as possible about yorkies and have never heard of a roached back before. Could you please tell me what this is? Thank you for the information.

I am sure a lot of people will tell Diesel's Mommy what a Roach Back is, but I just think that it's great to list what kind of bad breeders (and good, too!) are out there. Same goes for Vets, too! I never realized how much you need to know to breed Yorkies. Don't try it unless you are willing to learn. My friend and I are building a breeding business, and we started 6 yrs. ago and we still consider ourselves beginners. You absolutely do need at least one handler, a mentor and a lot of energy.
When you "stack" your puppy, take a look a his back from the neck to the tail. You want it to be straight as a pin. If it curves upward in a place, that is a "Roached Back". It is thought to be heriditary, and not desireable. It's one of the first thing the judge will notice at a show. You can tell sometimes, by watching your Yorkie walk, but stacking is the easiest way. :warning:

Tell me more about the policeman's interest in Yorkie ripoffs online, we just sent a woman in Alabama, clear across the country from us, a lot of money to bring us a pair of Biewer Yorkies from Germany, and I thought what the heck are we doing? What if she rips us off?

yes I will disclose everything that I know about her. I do not want the next person to think that breeding her will be okay.

On the policeman's number - that's a number I found when I was writing people on a bad breeder and I saved it for some reason - I can't remember why cause it was last year in July - but it never hurts to contact ALL the people you can - someone will listen eventually.

Hi Reagan! A roach back is when their spine curves. Hinda like a hunch back. It is hereditary and might not show up for several generations.

hi if your not keeping her you better get ird of her fast. even if you are planning on breeding her you won't want to give her up. you can't believe how fst you get attached to them!!
