Yorkie owners OK, do you think there are Yorkie owners who don't spoil their dogs rotten? Who don't have their dog wear the latest fashions and have 50,000 beds and blankets and treats, feed them the best foods money can buy, etc.... Any owners who treat their Yorkie like, well, a DOG????? (I'm not one of these, just wanted to know what is "normal"!) omega |
Ohh I'm sure there are people out there that think a Yorkie is just a "dog" but not me, mine is spoiled and she is a "baby" not a D O G! |
1 Attachment(s) I have 3 dogs...a cocker, a min pin, and a yorkie. and I have to say..the yorkie gets star treatment. not sure why...it just kinda happens :) and it has nothing to do with loving the others any less, they just arent' yorkies :) weird. here is a pic of all 3 of them. you can see the size difference, maybe that is what it is. don't know. |
Spoiled......Who Me!!!! LOL My Widget is so baby like acting it would be hard not to spoil her rotten as I'm sure most of yours are.....Snuggling up to our chin when we return home, and acting as if we've left her for days, when actually its only been an hour or so, is only one example....Our neighbors think we have gone totally bonkers over her....one reason is the whole back seat is a playpen for her, with toys, bed, blankeys and more....lol....as is our living room...:D they are just too cute and sweet (at times) not to luv um to death!!!!:aimeeyork |
I would say yes...there are people out there they treat them like a "dog". I, for the life of me, can't understand this! LOL! Mine are treated like my kids...I even talk to them! I'm just waiting for them to answer me back someday!! LOL |
When we first got Reesie I would call my husband and say "guess what your youngest with fur did today) He would just laugh.:D |

i feel an overwhelming urge to buy something anything for mine anytime i go somewhere! i don't know why or what it is i can't help it! when i do come home their jumping around like mad looking at me llike well what did you bring us?!! i would buy more if we had the $$ of course and some day i'm sure i'll get things i want for them but for now i have to control it! i hate it i would love to just be able to get whatever i want to for my yorkies! like those bb simon collars i have an eyeball on but nooooooooo... i have to wait! |
guilty to a certain extent. i treat Troy as a dog/kid. i have 5 other kids that i have to divide my time and attention to SO... but when i get some extra it goes to her. i haven't really known what to spoil her with. there is just much cool stuff out there. i'm trying not to spoil her more than my human babies... but its kind of hard cause i know Troy will appreiate it more!:D specially when i hear you got a dress, shirt, etc for the DOG! or you making what for the DOG! i'm like whatever.:rolleyes: |
I have any aunt that has a yorkie, and he (gasp) isn't spoiled and pretty much is treated as a regular dog:confused: I always feel sorry for him, which is really silly, she doesn't mistreat him or anything, he just isn't treated the same way I treat Cooper and Carley :rolleyes: Poor little Teddy!! |

Yes - my sisters friends Yorkie. She has had her little Yorkie for YEARS and I have never once seen that dog wears clothes (OMG! Should we call the DOGGIE POLICE???) lol :p :p :p But really, to them...she is just a regular old "dog" - not spoiled by ANY means. I told My Husband about this thread and he said treating your yorkie like a dog is probably grounds for a banning off of YT. |

Unfortunately, I have met a couple of 'those kind of people'...LOL. I don't think our Yorkies would know what to think if we treated them like 'dogs'....probably think the world just came to an end!! Even our baby Yorkies..(11 weeks) don't realize that they aren't human! We love spoiling all of our furbabies.....but really, it's so hard not too! |

Maizee definitely feels like she's a higher class than the other dog in the house. I'm pretty sure she feels like she's not a dog. Although, the way I treat her doesn't lead her to believe any differently. . . |
sorry i havent got dogs ive got yorkies lol:D they dont wear clothes but thats just cos they would just rip them off, they dont go in a pet stroller cos here in the uk people would think your mad:rolleyes: , i always carried my sasha but ive had people ask why i was carrying her and then say its a dog its got legs ya know, so id say no shes not a dog shes a PRINCESS and she doesnt do walking, shes far to posh for that kind of sillyness, why walk when you can be carried snuggled in your mummys coat:D as for beds they have one in every room and the new one my partner got them is a mini dog sofa:) we talk to them all the time and we have little songs we sing them:D and my zac quite likes a little dance with his mummy:D |
My dogs actually do not have a bed at all! They ate it! I didnt replace it bc WHAT A MESS!!! haha they do have a blanket and an old sweater of mine in the kitchen with them during the day while Im at work (so they are not on a cold hard floor all day) but they sleep in bed with me under the covers at night! so they are spoiled rotten in that regard! They do get the best food, a million toys and TONS and TONS of attention & affection! haha something about those little faces! Makes you want to give them everything you possibly can! but I do not dress them up... lol |

mine have dog beds but sleep in the bed with us at night, apart from zac who just comes in for a quick cuddle b4 the light goes out, he use to sleep in with us untill a few months back when the cat died (who he loved to the point where he would hold the cat down and love him even if he didnt want him too lol) we think zac saw the cat as a ghost in are bedroom at night and now he wont sleep in there with the light off but sleeps in the lounge with that light off, i think the cat got him back for the 12 years of forced kisses he had to put up with lol:D |
