| kong toys Kizzy has had a kong toy for a long time but never played with it, but I had never bought the stuff to go in it. and they still wont play with it as good as the one I bought yesterday. But I'm new to all these toy things and I thought it was just something to chew on when she was little. But Now i've read so much about them I bought the little red flatter looking ball yesterday and the can of stuff and a pack of the cookies. I put some of the spray in it first then I stuck a couple of cookies in it and yesterday evening they played with them for a couple of hours. This morning I just sprayed a little of the p'nut butter looking stuff in and they didnt play nearly as long. So how does everyone else do theirs? I'm gonna start putting a little of the pb spray stuff in it and a cookie or so from now on, since they loved it better. I think it dont take long to get the pb licked out but they keep trying to get the cookie as it has its own smell plus keeps the pb smell in it longer. Am I doing this right. I didnt see any directions as whether to put both in at the same time or what, so I just used my own imagination. how does everyone else do theirs?

| Howie is the same as Kizzy. He isn't very interested in the Kong. I'll put the pb spray inside and he'll sit there and lick it out, but as soon as it's gone he's done with the toy. Even if I freeze it he finishes it pretty quick. He really likes bully sticks these days. I don't like to give him toys that involve food. My mom has really food-dependent pets and I don't want Howie to get like that!

| no and I dont want mine to get food dependent either, but once a day to me wont hurt. I never thought of freezing the pb but they love ice and that would make it really cold and I bet they would like it better. I dont put much in it anyway. I usually only give them treats when they potty like good girls or if i'm trying to train them to do something special. The rest of the time they get dog food and water, but they dont eat a lot, Kizzy sometimes wont eat but once a day and thats late evening. Maggie will eat off and on during the day but not much at a time. So I dont think the kong toy will make them dependent, the love their plain other toys a lot. But I just wondered if I was doing it right, ty Lexi for the freezing idea. I will try that.

| Poor Joey. I only fill it with canned dog food and he thinks he's getting a real treat! (It's the only time he gets canned dog food).

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I just went out and bought the puppy kongs for my Yorkies. I bought the penut butter and liver spray. They wern't as over joyed as I thought they'd be. I think the rubber smells bad. I'm hoping they start liking them better. But I just learned about the bull penis's (LOL) on YT the other day. Okay bully sticks, and I'm going to give those a try too. |

| I squirt in the liver paste and then a couple of the cookies also. Mine like to lick out the paste but usually can't get the cookies out. They are just not that interested in the cookies I guess. I think mine are spoiled from the chicken jerky treat I give them in the mornings. They absolutely love those. |

| can they have real pb? I didnt mean I put real pnut butter in their kongs. but the pb looking stuff in the quirt can. This time i cleaned them real good and put in just a couple of the cookies. I figure since they like ice so much they might like to just chew on them while their cold as they try to get the cookie out. I dont want to give them too much of the cookies or pb so I will try different things in them. If I could figure out a way to plug the hole in them long enough to just freeze water in them, I would put water in and freeze it and let them take them on the deck late in the evening and enjoy them and I bet the would like it because they both love ice. But they cant have that in the house to melt in my floor as they lick it. lol. but they can on the deck. Plus the water will be great for Kizzy as she drinks very little. Maggie is a water pig. think I'll try to put tape over the end till they freeze and then take it off. yep, i'mma try it. will let ya know how it goes.

| well I smeared the pnut butter stuff over one end of each just enough to keep water from leaking. then i froze that. then i put cold ice wated in them and stood them in my freezer and let it freeze. I gave them to them on the deck about and hour ago and they've both just now gave up on getting more than water out. lol kept them busy again, I guess as it thawed they could still smell the pnut butter stuff i smeared on the end and that way they got water as it melted.
