Does Your Yorkie Like Cats? I just let my girls outside and we have an outside cat that started out as a stray and now 15 years later she is still with us. We love her and she would be a inside cat but I am very allergic to cats and she has only known the outside and gets very nervous if we bring her inside. Anyway when we got our newest baby Abbie now 5 months old. Kit Kat immediately started mothering her and they bonded very quickly. My oldest girl Reesie is 16 months old and she is the referee. If she thinks the cat is becoming a little to aggressive she will get between the two of them and break it up. I've got two mammas for Abbie. Just wanted to know if anyone has any dog/cat stories to share. |
Brownie loves our inside cats but doesnt like any other ones we dont own any outside ones |
My yorkateers are all cat chaser but with one they play all the time chasing each other back and forth...but I have one in the house (my daughters) that they don't like and chase her all the time, they don't catch her, they would be scared to death if they did, but they don't like her for some reason, and she was her first....:) |
Oh yes, mine all get along! Meiah especially Loves the cats. She gets so excited and her tail wags sooo fast! |
My first Yorkie loved our two cats but my second Yorkie hates...(takes deep breath)...cats,birds,foxes,dogs,helicopters, aeroplanes,police/ambulance sirens, buses, cars, motorbikes, the vet,squirrels.....but he loves people:D |
Mine tolerate our cat but thats better than it used to be when they would bark at her. They at least now cohabitate together okay. They will never get to the point that they play together |

From time to time , I am asking myself if my Yorkies are cats . Its so funny to see them when they play . |
yep mine like cats and think all of them are up to playing with them but they are not all friendly and a stray could be carrying disease due to no shots and such or can injure your dogs with a swipe be careful |
My fat cat Peanut (16 1/2 lbs) loves to play with Bella. He will actually initiate play, and then wrestle with her. Whisper will tolerate Bella, so Bella basically leaves her alone. I've even caught them laying together. Well... once, but it was so cute. Sasha we have trouble with. She's our oldest cat (around 10 yrs old) and she HATES Bella. So... everytime Bella is around Sasha hisses and growls and that sets Bella off barking and chasing her. It's like come on stupid cat if you stopped hissing and growling at her she'd leave you alone!!! |

I hate to say this but mine Hate cats, unless its ours. If I say its ok then they leave it alone but if a stray comes by, its no holds barred they will try to catch it. They are the typical mouse and rat killers in the barn and now they have become the snake and possum killers. My yorkies think they weigh 100 lbs. and are fearless. |

All four of my dogs hate cats -- because the only ones they know are ones that their owners let them roam around loose all the time and they like to come to our fence to aggravate my dogs. I put up a privacy fence, but they still know when they are out there. :( I wind up having to take my dogs in so they will stop barking just because there are cats in my yard! I fenced about an acre but that was evidently not enough. My biggest "pet peeve" (pun intended) is people who let their animals run loose unattended. We also have some very BIG dogs in the area who come to do their morning business in the unfenced part of our yard -- EVERY DAY! Peeeee-yoooooo! I would never dream of packing my 4 down to these people's yard to crap -- so why do they send theirs to my yard? Sorry .... I might have veered off topic a bit. Just sulking about it this morning...... Calm down, Debra Kay.... calm down...... just go scoop the horse-sized piles up AGAIN! I may mail it back this time......JK. |

Ruby's picture's with the cats are so..... cute. :) Thanks for sharing. My Rudy doesn't like the big black cat that runs our neighborhood loose. When he's tied outside ( were always out there with him ) and sees that cat, who is bigger than he is, he has a fit. :cat: :grin2: He doesn't really bother my sister's indoor cats when he's over at her house though. He tries to sniff them and they hiss at him and that's it for him the rest of the visit. ;) Just had to share my cat story. Rudys Mom (Dawn):animal-pa |
:aimeeyork Lola:aimeeyork is 12weeks old and gets sooooo excited when she see's my:aimeeyork two cats .Scratchy' and 'Billy'! Billy is a big ginger tom, a year old and he will groom Lola and really play with her, he even has copyed her biting our ancles lol! :cat: My older cat Scratchy is 8 and she hate's Lola, but Lola just wants her to play! The only problem i have is trying to stop Lola chasing them in excitment!!!!!! :aimeeyork |
Suzette for the most part got along fine with our 2 cats. Once or sometimes twice a day tho the cats would be snuggled together sleeping and Suzette would run up to them barking her head off. The cats would take off running and Suzette would come over to me. It always looked like she was proud of herself. I started thinking Suzette thought the cats needed some "excercise" at that moment. |
Yup, my tucker was obsessed with cats. He loves them! I'm not sure the cats felt the smae way though, haha!;) |
Coco just had her first experience with a cat. My friend Kellie will be watching Coco for 5 days while I'm on a business trip. She has a cat and a weiner dog and to be honest, Coco is more interested in playing with the cat than the dog which is WEIRD..lol...but their dog is a big wuss who's afraid of a 4 lbs yorkie  So far Coco loves cats, but she's only met one. |
I don't think Lola had seen many, if any, cats before she came here a few days ago. We have one inside/outside cat that LOVES dogs, but Lola was a little freaked out by him at first. Now she waits till he falls asleep and she'll go over and sniff him all over and lick his face. ;) |

Yes! Well she has no choice really as i had 2 cats when i got Pippa. She got swiped on several occasions even had her eyeball cut by one of them, but has finally realised to move quicker! |
Gracie loves my four indoor cats. Rather she likes the boys (one of the boys is the smallest and he is her best friend) and loves to harass the girls! |
My cats tolerate Grayson. You will never see a photo with all of them in the picture! And my two cats toleriate each other. |
my kids LOVE the cat... Mi-Kitty came to us as a stray about 4 years ago, I think the minute he walked into my house and looked at my dogs like they were crazy.. he was OURS! Hope was a little scared of the kitty at first... but they do fine together... |
