Who Has Shipped A Puppy?
 
I was wondering if anyone has shipped before either buying or selling and how it works i was thinking of getting a new baby but i am scared to ship?

How do you protect yourself when you wire your money to a bank account?

Kodak was shipped to me from Oklahoma to Chicago Ohare airport. I made sure it was on a straight flight in and it was a short flight. You want to make sure the puppy does not ride in cargo and that someone is watching them. I think Delta recieved good puppy reviews. when I was 1st searching, I checked round trip flights to meet the breeder at the airport. If your puppy may not be ready for 2-3 mths, you maybe able to get a cheap roundtrip ticket to go get your pup.

They had a thread on here about shipping and I tried to find it for you but I couldn't :rolleyes: but I remember in the forum I don't think people said it was a bad thing to do, some said if its short flight they would do it.....I personally was considering it until I found a good breeder where I stay, did you find a breeder yet?

Never wired money to a bank account, what about using PayPal its basically the same thing and you can definetly account for it on there :)

I wouldn't wire any money until you make sure this person is legit. So many scammers out there. Maybe you have already but did you check your local area or surrounding areas where the breeder can meet you 1/2 way, or you can drive to them?

I found a breeder 2 1/2 hours from me and I will be driving to get my next one. I didn't mind the flying part and I was worried about my puppy all the way to get him.

I've been scammed and fortunately, Western Union called me before the transaction was completed and I didn't loose any money but I know people who have been caught up in a scam and lost thousands. Legitimate breeders and buyers usually deal with Paypal, cash, or back draft but with a bank check of any kind, confirm that it is legitimate before cashing.

I purchased one that was shipped to me with no problem. I've also shipped several times, including as far away as Alaska. It was over nine hours with a stop over and the pup arrived safely and in good health. Of course, I much prefer to have the pups picked up, or even meet the new owners part way, but that isn't always possible. Besides that, I now have some great friends all over the country.

Yep, Western Union called me about a transaction that they intervened on and I'm glad. It wasn't for a yorkie but I would've been out of a couple of hundred dollars.

My tucker was shipped to me from Texas and he did great! At the time he was 10 weeks old and 1 pound 9 ounces, but the second we let him out his crate , he wanted to play. He was clean, chubby, healthy and happy! As long as they don't ride in the underbelly of the plane, they're usually fine:thumbup:

Western union said that once the money is wired to an account, the scammer would take the money out and close the account. They found overseas that a lot of students were doing it for the money and some just crooks, so be careful. Maybe your bank can call the other bank to make sure the account and the holder are legit.

All I can say is I have been using PayPal for quite some time now (years) and nothing has went wrong thus far (knock on wood) :D
