Wow lucky you !! I would run back there!! |
I think it is wonderful that you can provide a good home for that Yorkie. Good luck on getting her for your mom. Please let us see photos. I don't know your mom's age but think an older dog is probably a better choice than a puppy. I'll soon be 58 and have talked to my kids about who should take care of Little Bit should she outlive me. |
I got my older yorkie when he was 4 yrs old too....he adjusted great...the most sweet loving pup....he isnt as much as a lap dog as my younger one...honestly he is kinda like a cat...wants to be near u, but not on u. I'll tell ya he is most well behaved dog i ever met. Only barks when playing, house broken.....and listens so well. Good Luck!!! |
I am FURIOUS ok......my mom and I drive down to miami, an hour and a half drive, to see that yorkie. we got there and were the first to put our name on the list. we were thrilled!!!! we went back to see him and played with him, and he was sooo excited to see us. there was this guy there who said he was from a rescue that was trying to look at him too and we told him that we had adopted him, we were just waiting to fill out the papers. we sat for 2 hours in the waiting room to be called and finally when we got up there the lady said THEY GAVE HIM TO THE RESCUE. I was like how is that possible we were first on the list. she said somehow there was a miscommunication!!!! but we told that guy we were taking the dog!! and now the dog is in a rescue 4 hours away from us!!!! i could just kill someone!!! anyways...sorry for the long post, but i had to vent!!! :( |
That is so horrible!...i am sorry. Don't know why they would play with peoples emotions like that....Just keep looking, there is so many great pets that need a good home like your moms. take care |
That is not right! Wouldn't a true rescue want to see the puppy in a loving home right off the bat without all the transferring? It makes me wonder if it is a true rescue or someone making money on pound puppies. :( |
thats exactly what i thought!!! why would you not want the dog to be adopted, unless you wanted to get the donation fee fromt he dog (which is 300 dollars at that rescue)...the guy probably knew it was a yorkie and could get lots of money, so he they didnt care....ahhh makes me soo mad, bc we would have loved that little guy soo much!!! i just pray he gets the home he deserves... |

we did find out where the rescue was. the thing is it is 4 hours away and my mom can't drive there, so i would have to drive her. which i have no problem doing, except that i am leaving to go home tomorrow ( I have been home at my moms for the holidays). :( its very upseting. the good news is that there was another puppy we wanted, that another family got and there was something wrong with their application, so the rescue called us today and we can go get her tomorrow monring before i leave bc she is only 15 min away. its not a yorkie :( but i know it will make my mom happy. she is a little shih tzu, 4 months old, potty trained, and about 6 pounds so far. my mom fell in love with her before we even knew about the yorkie, so she isnt too disappointed. i of course, am still very upset bc we dont get to have another yorkie in the family...hehe....i will continue to pray that that little yorkie finds a home |
I hope it works out that you can adopt this Yorkie. Finding a Yorkie a pound is rare. I foster Yorkies for YTNR, I flunked rescue 101. We adopted Robin two years ago. She was about 8 at the time and had been abused and afraid to come out of her cage. We have changed this Robin into a yorkie that loves us and we thank the stars every day she is with us. |
Hello I was just reading this post and was wondering where in fl this is? See My nephew had a male Yorlie about that age and he was killed shot a few weeks ago, and Im wondering if this was his little Yorkie that was placed in the pound. Did you know what its name was or get any pictures of him? |
I adopted a yorkshire terrier from the pound. He turned out to be the sweetest little guy you could ever want. I could never figure out why someone surrendered such a sweet dog. He was potty trained and all. At first you could tell he was really sad. When he adjusted he was a sweet little ball of fur. Good luck to you. |
