that's the first time in my life I did the splits in the opposite direction like one of those super limber girls - and that is NOT ME !!- GOOD memory girl that was a long time ago.... |

Really? I thought I was the only one that had a furbaby to freak out because of the sound. Thanks for telling me about it. I will def. look into it:) |

We also had no luck with wee wee pads or the doggie litter. Yogurt drops give her the runs (unless she gets just a very small piece of one drop). We do, however, love our Buddy Wash and Missing Link!! |
I nor my dogs liked the CC brush. I bought a evolution comb at pet depot for 7.99 and its great. they rarely have a mat in their hair. I use the cowboy magic shampoo and conditioner and detangler. I've got now where I use my pantene shampoo and once in a while I use the detangler on them but I use it mixed with water in a spray bottle just after their baths and brush them and their hair is always soft as silk and the pantene smells much better to me. I dont care for the smell of the cowboy magic, its not bad but I also have some silk shampoo that smells good that I use along too. I kinda change it up. I hate reading all these post about the chicken soup puppy lovers that peoples dogs dont like cause I just ordered a 6 lb bag for mine and cant wait for mine to try it and now i'm worried they wont like it. whaahhh!! I sure hope they do cause the only things ive found they eat good it a softer food called variety packs i mix with whatever dog food I'm using to get them to eat good. I have the wellness food now, they dont care for that, nor the iams, nor the sience diet nor anything else. I did have a bag of the food for yorkies( cant remember the name of it) but they ate it about as good as any but not that good either. So I was praying mine would like the chicken soup since all ive heard about it so far was how much everybodys dogs loved it. So I'm still praying they will like it or i'm soon gonna just pick up a bag of cheap food at the grocery store and try it. Ive spent lots of money on dog food this past 10 or so months and given several bags to my sister for her dog. a schnauzer and i'm bout ready to throw about 5 lbs of this wellness food in the garbage. I wont keep paying for a dry food I have to always buy a soft food to mix with it to get them to eat it. But at least they've eaten it good mixed and maggie has gained up to 5 lbs and 3 oz but not getting big just getting fatter and looks so cute. But that gets expensive. so i'll see how the chicken soup goes next then i give up. |

People have posted lists about the best foods for dogs and since Chicken Soup was high on the list and so many dogs loved it, I think it's a good idea to try it. I'm having a problem deciding how far down on the list should I go; and are these lists really accurate. I've read that a lot of dogs like Royal Canin, but reviews on quality weren't that good, but I'm tempted to try it. One thing you should know Bama is any pet food purchased from Pet Smart can be returned. Good luck with your CS. Nancy |

Thanks bren, I definitely will keep it in mind. I really would like to find a food that he likes at a place like Petsmart. Something about knowing I can obtain food for him close-by eases my mind. I guess that's why I nursed my skin babies. :) Nancy |

There are a few places near me that sell natura products but they are not sold at chains like petsmart or petco. http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=stores-tab |
My 3 wont even go near the kong toy let alone try and get the treats out:confused: |
well I could of gotten the sample bag of chicken soup for 2.99. but shipping on it was as much as it was on the 6 lb bag. I rather lose money by giving the dog food to my sister or my neice for their dogs than waste it on shipping. |

I got impatient and went to Petsmart again. Bought the Royal Canin Puppy Formula. He ate almost 1/3 of a cup. This is the first time I've seen him actually stay by his bowl and eat. Usually it's a bite or two and he walks away. I hope this food isn't too bad for him. Sounds like it has some really good things in it, it's gotta be better for him than Cherrios. Bren, that was a good link, by the way, it listed places close-by that I had never heard about before. Maybe next time. Thanks. Nancy |
I'd have to say the Petzlife dental gel and spray. I've been using it over a month now and while I do see an improvement, it's nowhere near the before/after pics I've seen on their website and on their packaging. Neither of my dogs had a really bad problem, just a little plaque accumulation on their back teeth. The ads made it sound like it would disappear in two weeks. And it didn't. So the product didn't live up to the hype, in my opinion. |
I use Bio-Groom Fresh Scent Shampoo and Conditioner. It has a really nice smell that lasts for several days. Toto's fur is very shinny and silky. I also dilute some in a spray bottle and use when brushing. |
Update on Cowboy Magic. While combing Joey, he let out a little yelp. Horrified, I inspected him carefully, and I noticed he had a little sticker in matted hair. I tried to carefully remove the sticker and comb out the mat with no success. After applying a small amount of CM, I was able to comb right through the hair and no more little yelps! So now I'm "sold" on Cowboy Magic! Nancy |
I like the Cowboy Magic too. At first I thought the detangler was making Ben look a little greasy on top of his head, but then I started using less and skipping his little head. It does make him shine nicely and combing after his bath is a breeze. I do wish it had a nicer scent -- it does not smell much at all. The Cowboy Magic shampoo is the same -- little scent and very concentrated -- but works well. I will probably try a different shampoo if this bottle ever runs out! Mine like the Kong with peanut butter in it but will not eat any of that expensive Kong Filler I bought from Petsmart. DH says it looks like caulk and why would they eat it. All 4 of mine LOVE the bully sticks/Pixie sticks (if you order from Kathryn). The two Yorkie pups really love it if I will just hold one and they nibble on opposite ends. I feel like their slave. We had to put the loofa dog away for awhile because the female Jack Russell fell in love with it :( But they all seemed to like it before the torrid affair. Let's see..... what else...... foods -- I don't know where to begin. I have gotten lots of sample sizes to try and not sure mine love any dry food. But they are eating Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul kibble fine right now. They seemed to eat most brands of kibble without much enthusiasm. They would not eat the Natural Balance kibble but love the little Natural Balance meat rolls. We put just a few shavings in with their kibble and it is a mad scramble to see if they can pick it all out. They also love cottage cheese and the Yogurt drops -- both of which I read about here. |
Great thread! Not everyone will admit that a "fabulous product" didn't turn out to be that fabulous for them. I switched Tatum from Missing Link to Grizzly Salmon Oil on someone's recommendation and it took nearly a year before I realized that it was not making Tatum's hair better... in fact, it was worse. We're back on Missing Link now and Tatum's hair is already thicker! I think PetSilk shampoo and conditioner works better on her than the CC products although I do still use ice-on-ice for in between bath brushings. And of course with this, every dog's hair is different and different products work for them. I haven't tried Cowboy Magic because Tatum's hair is so silky that even when it's very dirty it doesn't mat or tangle (but then she doesn't wear clothes either which can cause tangles). Remember that stuffed marmot toy that a bunch of people raved about quite a while ago. Tatum got that for Christmas last year and STILL absolutely loves it! When it came in the mail, I thought no way was she going to like it because it was nearly as big as she was but it's her favorite! Thanks to whoever that was!! And Villette, almost every time I use the ice-on-ice on Tatum, I think of you doing the splits!!:D :D It actually got me too when I first started using it... even though you had just posted about your splits ordeal, I didn't think about it and sprayed it on a linoleum floor. DO NOT do that!! So now, I always flash on you (and me) do the slippy-slide on "ice"! :D |
Here's what did or did not work for me after reading the hype here on YT: Ice on Ice :thumbdown Chicken Soup Food:thumbdown Merrick's Food :thumbdown CC gold brush  Cowboy Majic  Yorkie Yummies  Silk Dubonie Step in Harness  Kongs  Merrick's Texas Toothpicks  Bully sticks  The number one best product advice I got here on YT talk was purchasing a flea comb to help get rid of the eye buggers! Sure helps with the grooming. As far as food goes, I gave up trying the find the 6star foods and resigned to finding one that my furkids would actually eat! |

I love these reviews got me all hyped up about a few more things. Was anybody disappointed with Missing Link? Nancy |
