simple.....dont breed her. You need to have your husband ccome read this thread... maybe he needs to read alittle on breeding to.. You need to stand up to him. if not maybe your babies need to go to a different houshold.. |
Poor puppy!!! Lillybelle is 4lbs and I had her spayed-BECAUSE SHE IS TOO SMALL TO HAVE PUPPIES!!!!!!. I LOVE HER and wouldnt put her through that TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PAINFUL ordeal. |
Nonono!!!! :eek: I am a breeder and NO NO NO DO NOT DO THAT!!! Dont breed on the first heat and never ever breed a larger male to a smaller female. 7lbs to a 4lb baby.She is still a baby!! You will have problems bigger than you ever imagined if you do. If he is concerned about the money side of it, then it will cost him a whole lot more if you breed those two than any money you would make off of puppies IF they live and IF she lives through it. Please let him read this---you just can not breed those two EVER if she stays that small. I understand he is concerned about the money side---I am concerned about the animal side of it. Yorkies are a very special breed that you have to know alot about before EVER considering breeding or you will have your hands full and overflowing with problems. I could get in to all of that but just please take my word and the word of all who post here to NOT DO THIS!!! PLEASE!! |
No your not cold hearted but you are obviously naive and your husband is running things. You stated you suggested studding out your male dog to reimburse your husband and that is just as bad. Do you know that that could possibly change your males personality? Do you know that if you care about the breed you have to get genetic testing? Well your husband doesn't care about breeding a puppie so I doubt he cares about testing either. Does he know anything or he just thinks you let them screw and 2 months later out pops some puppies and in rolls the dough? YOU NEED TO GET BOTH DOGS FIXED. I can just see it know there is going to be an "accident" and your dog is pregnant. |

Well I don't feel like you should breed period. Not the first or second or third or fourth season. There are enough dogs out there. And from the sounds of it your husband would turn you BOTH into the types of breeders we hate here at Yorkietalk. Because he DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE BREED ONLY THE MONEY. Be honest that's why you have a male and a female because he wanted to breed them all alongs right??? Only thing is neither one of you new you are not suppose to breed a bigger male to a small female. Neither one of these dogs is fixed either. This is a shame. Well maybe someone clueless will buy from you. |

There may be bigger issues here. Than the breeding of her Yorkie..... I feel very bad for you, I know you have a heart. And you are trying to do the right thing......I got an idea.....let him read all the recent articles about delivering Yorkies.....quite frankly, they scared the crap out of me and I tell you.....I would spay her before I would allow him to use a bigger male on her and her being so young.... It is a shame.....sounds like he THINKS he is the boss at your house....:( |
