| I put my new baby in his crate to go to sleep (with my sister who is 'sharing' the puppy since she isnt allowed to get one). I have Bailey in her crate in my room and she wakes me up at 6am and I bring her out, give her breakfast and she plays in her playpen until I get up about 9. I assumed this morning that Cooper would have woken my sister during the night and early in the morning to pee....but he wasnt in his playpen when I checked on him at 9....I snuck into my sisters room (she was still sleeping) and he was in his crate, wide awake but quiet and he had peed in there. Why didnt he cry so we could let him out? Bailey never peed in her crate, she always just cried to be let out. Cooper is a sooky baby, he loves cuddles and cries when he is put down. |

| yeah mine kinda did the same, i didnt expect her to cry to go outside to pee today, because i have only had her since friday and theres no way (in my opinion) that she would learned so quickly, and i didnt pay attention thinking she was just crying to be let out, so she gave up and took off and went to my closet where her crate and wee-wee pad are and and she peed there, she wakes me up like at 7 am to let her down from my bed so i can let her go to her pad, and then comes back and looks up so i can get her up with me then goes to sleep and then i take her for a walk and she pees out side, i think yours knew that if you were sleep she wouldnt want to wake u up and maybe knew where the crate was at and what it was for... just a thought |

| Maybe she was confused as to where she was and how she could get to you? or maybe she didn't want to leave your sisters side Just a thought.. |

| Maizee still pees in her crate to this day if I don't get home on time to let her out when she thinks she needs to be. She NEVER cries in her cage. Sometimes I think she is content to sit in her pee. . . ew |

| Your sister might not have been usd to listening for the puppy cries. But new puppies have little control over this -- it should happen less and less as your baby gets used to you getting it out to potty each morning.

| He cried last night to be let out (at about midnight). I gave him lots of praise and pats. He still peed in the crate once....but hey we are improving! |

| Thumper used to pee in his crate until we put the divider in it. Now we just take him outside at the same times every night. He usually doesn't cry when he's gotta go either. Most of the time at night he won't even get up and come out of his crate on his own because he's sleepy. He makes us drag him out of there. |

| Venus had accidents that first week in her crate. Mainly because I didn't have it beside my bed so I could hear her cry to go potty. When I did put it right beside my bed, after about a week things improved. I put the divider in the crate for 1. She had way too much room in there, and could sleep in one end and potty in the other. They just need enough room to stand up and turn around in. And everytime she'd wake me up, immediately we went out to potty! I hated going out 3 times in the middle of the night, but better than her messing up her crate. In doing that, she learned to wake me before she messed up the crate, not after. |

| For the first month I set my alarm for the middle of the night. I never exspected Chewy to go longer than 4 hours as a young pup...It turned out he has a fantastic bladder and can hold it way longer then I ever would have thougt but as a young pup we took turns taking him out every four hours at night, and every single hour during the day. He doesn't go in his create and he did whine when he needed to go!
