I paid $10 at the local shelter where I got Lacey.
For my other dogs I paid $25 at the local Spay and Neuter Clinic.
$15 for registration.

Wow, I didn't know there was a "do-it-yourself" microchip.

Micro chipping is a deep IM(in the muscle) injection just like when you get a shot in deltoid muscle( the upper outer portion of your arm). There in no need to put them under.

Well they sell them to the public so I don't see why we cant do it ourself. It's so short and simple I can't imagine paying 70 bucks for someone to do it! To me, that's robbery!

I guess I'm the only one that has been ripped off here for paying $70 bucks :eek: :eek: and I thought my vet was one of the cheap ones:D :D

Petco has a mobil clinic...so check with them. It's an affordable clinic that they do to give shots and the microchipping. I think the last time when I was there they were doing it and it cost something like $20. There was a huge line of folks getting their doggies their rabies for very cheap too.

Gracie was Microchipped yesterday. The vet charged $35.50 for implanting it. It cost another $17.50 to register it with Home Again.

They don't put them under anesthesia for a microchip.
