fAST THINKING. You might want to find the owner of those dogs and have a friendly talk about the dog walker. |
DEVOTEDTOYOU: I went back and found your thread "What is too old to breed?" It was one of the first opportunities I had to "get to the bottom" so to speak of people's strong feelings on these subjects and ask them to lighten up a little and not be quite so harsh sounding. I was happy to stand up for you in that instance and I am glad you are still here and sharing your stories. Your last one is a good lesson in vigilance and quick thinking. |
1 Attachment(s) ....well I am new to yorkietalk. I've joined this past March with my yorkie, Comet, and I honestly have to say that if it had not been for this site, I would have "been in the lerch". I have gained more important information from the good, the bad and the ugly comments. I have gained facts about my yorkie that I could never have gotten from my dogs Vet! The topics have been insightful, and all of my questions have been answered to my satisfaction. As far as the "meanies" go, I think that people sometimes feel so comfortable here, that they forget that so many people are "tuning in". I guess the saying is true..."Think before You Speak" . Thank you yorkie moms and dads! I love this site! ;) |
I just think if you see somebody being rude call them out on it, and leave it alone. If that person wants to be childish and rude, then let them. Snapping back at them and acting their level, is what they want. Just mind yer business and keep posting on this wonderful board! :D |
I have to say I was really hurt when I was trying to get information on breeding my little girl and was treated like I was a bimbo. BUT, I'm tough, oh so tough, and I just had to step back for a few days and try again. I felt like I was getting no where and getting no information. SO, rather than breed my female, I bought us a new puppy, and he is a real doll. I would never, ever want to put my Gracie in any kind of jeopardy. Although I don't dress her up, I love her with all my heart and could never live with myself if something happened to her because I wanted another puppy. It was much safer and cheaper to buy another. Thankfully, not everyone thought I was uneducated and had nothing to offer, so I'm here to show everyone that I don't tuck tail and run! |
Kelsey: I couldn't agree more! You are very wise grasshopper! CometsMom: I am glad you can see through it all and stay even when it is not all good as Martha would say!! There is so much to learn on here and it is a real treasure to have this resource. You too "DevotedtoYou" |
Okay Okay Okay!!! It was me people just say it! I was the meany on the greenies page, Im not afraid to admit it! Okay maybe I did get out of line, if I offended anyone Im sorry I am very opinionated. You dont have to keep bringing it up and not saying who it was, just say it Tink-n-Kody I will be labeled as the horrible person for a while its kool. I however would like to say something though, Im not a newbie and I have posted again since that one it was my opinion and Im not going to not post again I was not trying to be mean! I will say I called no one names! Dont make false comments. That are not true at all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions! Amanda :aimeeyork |
Amanda, If you read the post above you will see that we pretty much all agree to let it go and just respect each other thats all. I think you need to understand opinions are great we all have em. I guess we just want everyone to able to post thier opinions and in a way that doesnt get to harsh, thats all. Im glad you have continued to post and hope you continue to do so. You seem like a very passionate person when it comes to your opinions and i respect that all I ask in return is that you let us express ours without getting to upset if it doesnt agree with yours. I was just put off by the comment you made but its done and over with and life goes on. I am trying to learn as much as I can about yorkies and what to expect before i bring home my puppy in two weeks. I am a lil nervous as this will be my first time buying such a small breed i am used to shepherds. So I just want to be able wipe the slate clean be happy and merry and continue to have good times with the friends I have made here. I also hope to meet more and hope more of the newbies do post and dont scared off. So lets call a truce and start over. What do you say? |
I say Yorkie Talk is full of great people and regardless of what you do or if you accidently say something that is offensive.. people here are kind-hearted, great and definately forgiving. So, if you've offended anyone or caused any controversy and harsh words.. I think everyone can agree that we have all looked passed it and can all move on to bigger and better things like.. doggie clothes. lol  |
i agree :D and i also apologize if i offended anyone and got out of hand with my comments. it was just all out of frustration. |

I'm the person who posted about a certain Kennel/Mill in July, 2004...Here it is May 2005 and it JUST got targeted also -that Kennel was contacted by someone here as a way to stir up something...I don't know why someone would even WANT to notify a bad breeder about something said here - but it goes to show thyat you just never know when ANY subject can become heated - but people usually move on ... |
Sometimes I come on here and I feel like the kid wo transferred to another school in the middle of the year! I sit here and say brilliant things like DUH, whattaheckthatalkinbout? and ever so many more genius statements. How come I never can find the beginning of a thread that has the original splosion? Who is Mr. Brushy or whatever? Feel free to PM me and catch me up. |

I'm pretty new to the forum, but it has been a great experience. I'm familiar with the malicious posts Sue was talking about, and there was no excuse for them. I'm a fan of debate and sharing opinions, but never of speaking to people disrespectfully or unfairly. YT is full of so much wonderful information and has great members. No question is a dumb question--we all have to start somewhere, and it's unfortunate when a few people have to try and ruin it for others. Everyone has been really nice to me, and I wanted to say thanks :) |
I think life and forums can be very simple if we just remember the "Golden Rule" with each other here (not to include unscrupulous breeders Grrr!): "Do/Say Unto Others as You'd have Done/Said Unto YOU" Let's all be friends, yep, I am a devout avoider of conflict... Everyone on here has been great and hopefully will continue that way to model good behavior/posting for others to come! Dana |
[QUOTE=txshopper73]hhhhhmmmmm, I don't think it was me.... but I do have that kind of reputation! Well, people just don't understand me and my humor, that's all!!! :p Wonder if it's the Texas in us. I got my butt whipped the other day. It was not intentional at all, just my opinion. I learned to keep my opinions to myself. Wow what an experience. |
