Help! How the hizell do you get the crust... of their eyes? :( It's not time for him to go to the groomer yet. My daughter gave him a bath last night, and told me today she couldn't get it out. I told her I usually let the groomer do it, I've never had to, so it's my fault for not asking. I felt under his eyes and was like :eek: It feels like a little stone. We wet it and it still couldn't get it out. He's all clean and smelling good except for the crusty eyes. :confused: What to do?:confused: |
I have very carefully cut those darn things off. Would love others advice on this though. I have heard of others using a flea comb |

I use unscented hypoallergenic babywipes (dye free) and rub the crust and it comes off. |
I have some baby wipes, I will try anything right now. He's sleeping so I will wait till he gets up. The crust is really hard, I don't want to hurt him, but I want it off his face. |
I do two things. Soak the area with a warm wet cloth and then firmly but gently rub it off - that takes quite a while. Or - use a flea comb - it's alot quicker, but with the teeny tiny ones, you have to be careful 'cause the combs are so big. Now that you know - you can watch and do it more often so it's not such a big trial!:D My toy poodle is white and his tears leave a red stain. Tink is black so no stain but there is crust. I flea comb her face every other day to get the crusties. She's a baby and her hair is short right now. so it's pretty easy. |

flea combs are great for getting these out. They will be there on a regular basis. I have to remove them from my dogs eyes every day or two. i wet them with a little baby tearless shampoo on my finger tip then wash with a warm washcloth and use the flea comb. |

First I use a soft toothbrush and brush the hair by her eyes while she is in the bathtub with warm water and tearless puppy shampoo. Or if it isn't too bad, I use puppy wipes and a flea comb. |

I wash Bailey's face everyday with warm water or baby shampoo and when needed use a flea comb. I bought a small one in the cat section of PetSmart, they are less then $2.00. Michele & Bailey:aimeeyork |
