How much Missing Link??? Okay for all of you out there that feed Missing Link. I just started my dogs on it last week. I've started by just adding very little to there soft food every day and I've gradually been adding a little more. My question is do you feed yours the entire teaspoon? It says to use one teaspoon for a dog up to 20 lb. Well Titan is just under 3 lb and Roxi is around 5 and I think there is such a big difference in size on a 3 lb dog vs. a 20 lb dog. I don't want to O.D. them. Also at what age do you start feeding this to your dogs? We are getting a new puppy next week and I don't know when to start giving it to her. Also guys I ordered it from www.24HourPet.com They had some of the better prices, FREE SHIPPING, and it showed up the next day:eek: I couldn't beleive when the UPS guy showed up. |
Please, what is 'Missing Link'? A supplement? |
Yes, it's a supplement. I've had it recommended quite a bit. |
I feed mine a whole teaspoon. You should not wory about over supplementing or nutrition. My vet gave me the okay on an entire teaspoon. My yorkie is about 4lbs but has been on missing link since he was 3lbs. My toy poodle is on missing link plus (she is 4 and has arthritis) and she too gets a whole teaspoon :) The results are amazing! Oh, and make sure you store it in the fridge :p |
Anna, I forgot to mention that my yorkie is very tiny but solid. I started him right when I got him @ almost 12 weeks of age ;) |
i just started layla on it about a month ago.. started with 1/4 tsp and have been working my way up.. she gets it every morning in a tsp of wet food. |

My dogs will be on it for a long time. I wasn't really thinking and ordered a 5 lb bag. Mainly bc then I would get the free shipping. Let's see  5 lb and we will use 3 tsp a day (3 dogs) that would equal ... A life times supply I think. |
I feed 1 tsp for all of my babies (3), it says on there 1 tsp per 25 lbs of body weight per day. |

Expiration dates is good for as long as the date printed if unopened. If not, go 90 days after opening. |
I bought some for my 2 and have been giving them just a sprinkle because they are 3 lbs and 2.7 lbs. You really think I should be giving them more? Maybe you are right since I have not noticed a difference in either of them. I was also afraid since it said a tsp for 20 pounds, which in my mind meant a sprinkle! |
I just started Jaden on this supplment about three weeks ago. I give him the full teaspoon but I split up the dosage, one half teaspoon in the morning and one half teaspoon at night. I started out with 1/4 teaspoon in the morning then 1/4 teaspoon in the morning and at night and now we've worked our way to 1/2 teaspoon. I'm not sure what age you're suppose to start using it but I would imagein if they are eating dry food a 1/4 teaspoon would be ok. Ichecked the ingredients and a lot of them are similar things that are in their dry food (similar to Nutro or Chicken Soup for the puppy lovers soul) just with a other good for vitamins and supplements. I kind of think of it as you taking a multi-vitamin, this is there multi-vitamin. Anyway, hope this helps a little! When are you getting your new puppy and what kind is it going to be? :) You must be so excited! |
I give both Shylah and Starsky a pinch in the morning and a pinch in the evening on top of their moist food. I combine moist with the dry. They won't eat it if I just top the dry. They have been on it for about 2 months or so. What differences are you supposed to see? if any? |
where can i find this stuff at? |

I give Destiny (4-5 pounds) and Scampers (5 pounds) 1/4 a teaspoon each. I give Trixie (9 pounds) 1/2 a teaspoon. I know it says you give a whole teaspoon but this little amount has worked great for me. Scampers had such a huge improvement from just being on 1/4 a teaspoon every day. I think you can do it either way. I give mine a small amount because they will only eat a small amount of food and if I give them anymore it is just wasted. |

1 Attachment(s) Scampers has alot of hair. His hair is thick. In fact his size is deceiving because when you wet him down or put clothes on him he is half the size because of all that hair. The Missing Link has worked wonders on his hair. His hair use to feel dry brittle and cottony. Now it is smooth and silky. The results were just stunning. He even use to matt up alot but he doesn't anymore with the ML. Here is an after picture of Scampers after I put him on the ML. Sorry I don't have a before picture though. You can't even tell his hair is thick in this photo but trust me it is. His hair would never have looked like this without it. |
Try it, you will like it! Quote:
It seems expensive but if you divide the cost over the months it last and how many dogs you could give it to its not really that bad. I feed a teaspoon a day to each of my yorkies and 2 teaspoons a day to my collie. I think one bag would tell you whether or not you felt it was worth the $$ to continue with it. I have already purchased another bag as I didnt want to run out since I am sooooooo pleased with the results. :aimeeyork :animal-pa |

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48063 Both of my yorkies eat out of the same bowl and I free feed. I put 1tsp on a fresh bowl of kibble every morning. But I gradually introduced the Missing Link because it really upset Hobbs' tummy at first. He had to work up a tolerance to it. Hootie has been on Missing Link since the day she came home at 8 weeks. |
I started my babies on THE PLUS a month ago and there hair is getting beautiful But the amazing thing is My 18 yr old she has really improved on some of her activies and her appetite has improved alot.. I only give them a big pinch and O.M.Goodness ONLY 90 DAYS THAT stuff cost $$$$$$$$$ I wish i knew about this stuff 10 yrs ago.. |
When I started giving it to mine Jewels was 3 months and Chachi was 4 months. I gave the whole teaspoon |
I'm finally going to try it ...the girls and I are making some Christmas rounds today and I'm taking them to Petsmart and think I'll pick some up. This should be big fun - Cheri jumps like a monkey to be carried and Chanel will skip her way thru the store ....after reading Brutusmama's post about not taking them everywhere I go - this is a big deal for the girls lol - they LOVE going to petsmart and peoples houses but not other places....I think it reminds them of the vet :D Hobbs looks BEAUTIFUL ! I am 100% postive Chanel is cottony ...no doubt but am going to see if it helps with texture - the older she gets the harder it is to keep her looking smooth. |

But I hadn't read the part about the fridge, going to move it now. Glad I bought the small bag! |
What form is this in? Is it like crunch or is it a liquid? I haven't seen it a PetSmart - Where would they put it? |
