Feeding the Multitudes! Hi, As Mummy to 4 dogs, a big beautiful bulldog named Maggi, 2 bassethounds (who think they are wee little Yorkie Lap dogs ) and my Wee Rosie ( 3.5 lb) 1year old Yorkie it is a bit different at feeding time. The 4 are all fed in the am together, albeit Rosie has a little penned area in our kitchen that we can leave her kibble out for the day and put her in every few hours to have a snack so she free feeds. The rest of the clan gets fed again in the evening again with Rosie going in her little Pen. We also have a large dog crate for the Bassets in the kitchen if they need to be crated for sleep at night or during the day ( they love to chew and are nick named "The Devil Dog and her Dumb side Kick" for they're antics ie; checking out Christmas presents that didn't belong to them if you can immagine!LOL) So an alternative if you have space is to accuire a large wire crate to be able to safely feed baby Yorkie without the gang of bigger "brothers & sisters" eating his/her food. We also have to give her different food from the reat of the brood so we don't want it being some one's twoozies. Sorry for the long post but I hope this helps. Rosie's Mum |
