Scared me to death!!!!!!!! I wasn't going to share this story until I just read another thread. This really did happen to me on Friday & it has scared the liven socks right off of me. I have lived here for 33 years and have never encountered anything like this before. This is what happened. I was driving down the street minding my own business when I pulled off the road for just a quick stop. Rather than leave Annie in the car I picked her up and took her with me, dropped off the package & had just gotten back in my Explorer when this Suburban comes in at an angle and blocks me from going forward. This woman jumps out & starts screaming at me, that I have her yorkie! Where did I find her, that dog is mine & you took it! I am a little freaked out at the moment and can't believe what is happening, she starts to approach my vehicle all the time screaming that is my dog. My dog has a red bow in its hair. At which point I say to her, your yorkie has a red Minnie Mouse bow from Walt Disney World in it hair & you think this is your dog? A very big man has now gotten out of the Suburban & is headed my way as well saying it is her! When the woman gets to the front of my truck, I put it in reverse & took off out of there! Let me tell you this has shook me up pretty bad! I immediately called my husband & told him what happened, he asked me if they were following me, I didn't see them. He told me to call 911 if I saw them behind me. I live in a very small town, but it was Thanksgiving and people do travel. Once again right now I don't feel safe. I have no idea, if this person really lost their yorkie or if it was a ploy to steal her from me. I don't know, all I know is how it has made me feel. I now have a copy of all Annies' paperwork in my Explorer, if these people show up again, I will call 911 & I will continue driving until I get to either a friends house that is a officer( I have many) or to a very public place, where I can meet up with the officer that has been called out. |
WOW That is horrifying!!! just what we need is something else to be paranoid about.. I know I would fight to the end for my babies... how scary! mine will all be microchipped soon but I have also heard of tattooing, inside the ear... |
OMG!!!!! I dont know what the heck I would have done! Bless your heart you must have felt like you swollowed your heart! I'm so glad they didnt try to gank her out of your arms! Thank god she is safe with you! |
Yikes!! What town are you in? I wonder if it was that woman who posted this morning on here for reward. Her yorkie took off after a bunny and disappeared. She just knows someone has her and has posted everywhere looking for her. She was all over it. |
Yes, what town in Wa is this in? I live in Wa too, and if this is some scam to get people's dogs...that is scary!! |
omg I'm glad you and your yorkie baby are safe and at home..geez it isnt safe to be out anywhere anymore.... |

Thank you all so much it is still very scary. My husband & I were just talking about it & had this woman said she had lost her yorkie, I would have been on the phone & calling people to come & help. I will also say this, in the past when people asked me if they could hold Phoebe, I let them. But now, with this incident with Annie, NO WAY! It will take me a long time to let anyone I don't know hold her. Sad isn't it! :( |
Wow! I'm so happy you are safe! I can't imagine how scared you must have been. Good thing you got out of there fine. Did you notice that truck following you before you got out? |
I agree, way too scary. How brazen of them too. Nothing against you, but with the world today, how did they know you weren't going to shoot them or something. I never approach anyone anymore but you just never know what's what. Sad as that is, it's the way it is. I would have been on the phone to 911 so fast... |
OMG! How frightening! |
How scarey! I never thought about carrying copies of their papers, but it might be a good idea. You never know when something might happen. |
WOW! How scary! It's a shame you couldn't have gotten a picture of them with your cell phone!. Please be careful! Is your Annie microchipped? Don't wait for it to happen again, go ahead and call the police and report the incident so that they will have it on record. Sending hugs :ghug:. |

I always knew to NOT leave the baby in the car ... but now we have to worry about outside the car as well? Good thing you were in the car and able to back away ... Stay safe! </IMG> |
 OMG that is scary!!!!! I feel badly for the lady if she did lose her Yorkie, but geez, to not even KNOW your own dog? That's lame. |
OMG I am sorry this happened to you, good idea to keep paper work in your car, and to think of everything is Annie microchipped? Does she have a tag on her collar? I don't know what I would have done, i know i would fight tooth and nail for my grayson! Hope this dosn't happen again! |
 I would have been mortified!! One thing for certain ... they would have had to pry Toto out of my cold dead fingers! I am so thankful that neither you nor Annie were hurt. Maybe it's the time of year and people are trying to snatch these babies for gifts? Maybe they really did have a Yorkie who was stolen but you would think they would know their own baby! Thanks for sharing ... I will watch Toto even closer now [if that's even possible]! ;) |

There are times when some of the little Yorkies look almost the same, especially from a distance. A person stressed from the ordeal might mistake another dog for theirs. Still, no excuse for terrorizing someone else and their poor baby. |
Im scared just reading this post...it almost sounds like a scam to me. What did these people do when you took off in your car? Did they get back in theirs or try to follow you at all? Geez what a world we live in!!! Dawn |
Thank God you took her with you!! She might have taken her right out of the car!! |
OMG!!!! bless ur heart i cant even imagine how scared u were so glad u are ok thou and please be careful hun....thoughts and hugs going ur way |

No, this woman is in Kent. I don't think they are connected at all. |
That is the scariest ting i've heard of in a long time. I'll pray you two stay safe:( |
I hope that if those folks really are missing a Yorkie that they find her without scaring anyone else. However if they are just cunning con artisits, I hope they are stopped. People never cease to amaze me. Teri:animal-pa |
So scary  Stories like this reminds us to be more careful when out with our babies! I have had one encounter too but not as scary. I was in a Winners store and I just got in the store when a big size man came from the opposite of me and said "I like this dog and is going home with me!" and in an instant carried my baby which I was holding at the end of the other leash. I didn\'t know if he was joking or serious but my immediate reaction was "NO WAY!!!!" and everyone in the store looked at him. It was loud and clear and coming from me as I am usually quiet and shy, its pretty surprising. I took Siu Pao back from him..kind of like snatch him back and walked away quickly deep in to the store where I felt safer. After that incident, I don\'t like anyone trying to carry my puppy anymore unless they are like in their 80\'s where I know they can\'t run away with my baby. |
This is just nuts to hear...I am so glad that neither you or your pup were hurt.....These days ya just never know what can happen. |

I did not notice anything, I was just driving to my desination. That is what is so weird about the whole thing. Where they coming down the road and saw me getting back in my truck with Annie or did they pass us on the way up when we were getting out & flip around? I have no idea. The other thing is they did not follow me after I left them standing there. |

I am sure this is not the same person at all. I am in Wenatchee, which is a good 3 hours away. |
