Just by curiosity 1 Attachment(s) Yersterday , I was talking to Gazou's breeder and she told that she have been very surprise that I let him chose me and buy him . She told me that peoples are searching for more for females than males . Is there a reason peoples ask more for females ? I have Gazou and I am very happy with him . |
I love my male :) I don't know why people would rather have females, but I think it would be fun to dress girls up in dresses and bows as I don't put them on my male. |
I can't explain why people prefer females. I guess they think they are less aggressive or more loving My sil has a female lab and that dog will eat you alive if she thinks you are harming her mom. I can tell you after owning, or being owned by cats, the males are much more loving than any of my females ever were. Intially, we wanted a female yorkie, but Trace really stole our hearts. Baby boy yorkies unite :D |

Trace says he doesn't want to be a cross dresser either ;) No bows, no dresses, and no hot pink toenails :animal-sm |

LOL! I haven't colored the toenails yet but I am not ruling that out:) I just bought Bentley a shirt that says, STUD. It's baby blue, which I LOVE, and he wears it proudly! :) |
I think one of the main reasons that someone would want a female instead of male is the humping issue what they dont relize is that females do it also :D my female (spayed) is forever trying to hump my poor cat lol |
Maximus just got 2 new shirts, one is black and says, "I love my Human" and the other is blue, white and green Argyle. They are way cute! I like the argyle the best! I love to dress him up in "old Man" style clothes! I have had male dogs most of my life and I love them! My family choses our dogs based on personality and it may be just a coincidence, but the males are usually the ones that steal our hearts! PS- I was very close to getting a female yorkie I had a really hard time choosing cause Max and his sister were sooo cute and loving! |
Stewie wears boys clothes. He has 2 White Sox shirts a black shirt w/ a red skull on the back (its cute) a Chicago Bulls shirt a Red polo w/ yellow collar a green & orange sweater a shirt that says "bitches love me" a shirt w/ his name and paw print on the back a University of Illinois tee a tee shirt that says "I <3 Mom!" on the back that he wore yesterday. and probably 10 more that I can't remember right now. I like shopping for boys clothes better -- and that goes for human baby boys, too. |
Stewie is a definite example of hip fashion for boys :) |
I've heard the same thing. Females typically cost more than males too. I think it is because the money you can potentially make off of them if you decide to breed. I also selected a male and was told them same thing... |

Thank you for all the answers . It was really funny for me to hear from the breeder that she have been surprised that I chose a boy instead of a girl . I chose the one who came to me , placed him with the other , he came back to me . |

I try :) LOL |

Then he chose you ;) |
I've spoken to quite a few people about yorkie puppies. Everyone I've talked to has said that male yorkies are more affectionate, and that females can have more attitude. I was also told that females bond better with a male human and male dogs bond better with females. I'm not sure if this is true, but I decided on a male puppy after speaking with many yorkie owners. The clothes issue is the only thing I like better about females- so many more options!! Although, there are some really cute polo shirts and sweatshirts out there for boys! |
When I was trying to decide whether to get a male or female.. EVERYONE.. said DONT GET A MALE.... and there #1 and only real reason was because to the Marking.... which I was SOOO afraid of ... but finally found pups but only had 2 males!!! I didnt know what to do,,,, BUt guess what I did... I took HIM home.... ... and yes he did mark twice, only at other peoples houses,,(that had dogs) and then he got fixed and he has not done it since!! :D So Im so glad I got him... and did not listen to everyone... But, my neighbor had an Unneutered,,, 5 year old male,,, and he marks constantly!! SO thats one reason.... |
good point about the marking i forgot about that lol i have a boy and a girl my little girl will not let me do anything to her hair :( i bought some really cute little barrets but she hates them i do put sweaters on them and they dont mind that. I just bought a shirt for sebastain and it just came in this weekend they get groomed then he can wear his shirt and lots of photos lol |

I agree with the others, I think the idea of dressing girls up in pink appeals to lots of people. I have both a boy and a girl, they are both lots of fun, but my boy is so much more afectionate. He will lay on my lap like a baby all day long if I let him while my girl is running around the house like a party animal lol. |

I thought I would want to dress my little girl more, but my daughter (the female is hers) hates pink and I have only bought her one dress so far and it is a functional harness dress. It's real cute though! |
I dress Duke up all of the time, and he loves it! He has a variety of Hawaiian shirts, polo's, vests, sweaters, sweatshirts and jammies. I think that I have more fun shopping for clothes for Duke, than I do shopping for myself! :p |

Clothes Dinero was 7 mos old yesterday. How would he do with clothes now? Would he wear them do you think? |
I think that years ago when males were neither trained or neutered they were problems...marking and humping. That is not the case now--I can sell my males more quickly than my females. WHY? Cause I am a sincere lover of my boys. They bond better with their moms, they are needy and they don't have PMS. LOL I do not dress up any of my dogs-but that is another issue-- so that definitely is not an issue with me. Yorkie boys cannot be beat as pets.. Given the choice between the two, da boys get my vote!!! |
I'll admit it. I wanted females because I wanted to put bows in their hair and dress them up and paint their toenails. All of which I do. It had nothing to do with marking or humping. |
