:lol tears :lol tears :rollingey and they say people from New Jersey aren't "friendly"! (imagine that!) :D all kidding aside.....some people are just so miserable that they can never say anything nice! I own an 11 lb. beauty....the love of my life....Phoebi. Don't worry, however big your baby grows up to be...she'll still be your baby! :aimeeyork |
Other Yorkie Owners are ignorant too! Sorry your were subject to such ignorance! Beleive it or not the majority of Yorkie owners I run into, usually @ Petsmart and the Vets. Office are "Ignorant" or just don't know any better. I get this same treatment all the time from other Yorkie Owners who treat their Yorkies as if they were made of Gold, just b/c they have smaller furbabies than mine. Before Abigail's pregnancy she was only 7 lbs. and Artie was also 7 lbs. maybe b/c it was Summertime, 3 months now after the Birth, she is 9.5 lbs. and Artie is 10 lbs. Of course they are both eating the "Puppies" food and it's Wintertime? Or maybe it was b/c they are just getting older and less exercise in the colder weather? Their weight always fluctuates, depending on the time of the year? Any how I bred them on purpose not by accident, they chose each other as well as me choosing them. I was told by many other people who have no experience in Breeding Yorkies, b/c their Yorkies were too small to breed, that mine were too large to Breed and both s/b "Fixed". Why do other people always think they know what's Best for others, w/o knowing all the details? These are the same ignorant people that told me I wouldn't be able to "Sell" them b/c they were too big:confused: The Families that purchased them actually complained b/c they were too small since they had young children, they wanted them much bigger than they had previously seen. They were not willing to coddle/care for a delicate puppy that could not walk, play and interact w/their children. I don't breed my Babies for size, (mini-Yorkies) I breed for Personality......but I still follow the AKC. Standards. I didn't Breed for money either b/c I only Sold one, kept one, and I'm giving the last one away as Xmas gift. I love Yorkies regardless of their size, but I personally prefer the mid-size standard of 7 lbs. I know mine are only heavy during a certain time of the year. I also get alot of comments about their Coloration, since they are both Blue & Gold, not the more common color of Black & Tan and I am always asked if they are "Silky Terriers" and am I sure they are Yorkies? For some reason Size is always an issue? But IMO you or anyone else for that matter (myself included) that doesn't have a "Tiny" should not have to hear non-sense from another Yorkie Ownere that does have one! Luckily for her the Vet. called you in......the nerve of some people? |
wow! I'm afraid I would have told this woman where to stick it! |
Dont listen to waht other's think. I had a little female 4 lbs the best personality, never barked was my little baby. Everyone kept telling me I needed to sell her because she didnt have the proper coat. She had the wire coat. They said she never would be the pretty yorkie that I wanted so I finally gave in and sold her. I have beat myself up EVERYDAY. I miss my baby soooo bad. It doesnt matter what everyone else thinks as long as you love your baby. |
If the lady was having hers spayed she wasn't raising a show dog/breeder anyway so what difference does it make what size the dog is? |
Size is relative 1 Attachment(s) I have two (of course, I started with one, who was lonely). I say she is solid. Her parents are both under 7 lbs. She is just over 9. But she is very beautiful. My boy is just short of five pounds. They are both babies at 7 and 8 months. But they are definitely the best kids ever (please don't tell that to my human daughter!). Breed standard is important if you want to show, I guess, but what makes you and your baby happy is more important. But yes, I hear all the time about how LARGE she is. But when we are at the stables, I don't fear her being near the horses. My boy is in my jacket so he doesn't get hurt. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some people need to MYOB. |

(o) So, yorkie pox on her-may her dog hit a growth spurt and weigh 30 lbs. It's people like her who "toss" their dog away when it gets too big or it's ears aren't perfect or it POOPs on the floor. She needs to get a life and is too full of herself. As for me. I'm the proud mom to a 11 pounder with floppy ears and a 8 pounder with 1 ear up and 1 ear down. She would propably suggest I should have been put to sleep as I'm short and fat |
And the BIG question is....who CARES how big your puppy is....more to LOVE!! Francie P.S. I applaud your restraint....I would have leveled a steady stare at her and said "Do you find it difficult to care for your Yorkie....with your Mental Disability?" |

As I said in another thread ... dogs have more friends because they wag their tails and not their tongues .... be proud!!! |
What a b****! I don't see how some people can be so rude. I would've told her off, cussed her out, and maybe even b****-slapped her. |

Yeah I'm pretty sure that a 2 pound yorkie is not an "acceptable yorkie" by AKC terms. What a crazy lady! I have a 2 lb-er, but I would think that your baby would be more "acceptable" as a yorkie than mine! I think she's the one who needs to be put down . . . |
LillyBelle was 2.5lbs at 6 mos and by a year weighed 4lbs, so her "acceptable" doggy will most likely be BIG soon anyway! Phooey on her. |
