Personally - I wouldn't push it. I would really probably do the opposite and really make every effort I could to make sure she enjoys my little puppy. You can certainly hold your pup, pet it, play with it, and be very affectionate. But, to deliberately demonstrate the very behavior that she has already said she doesn't appreciate - isn't the wisest thing to do. *** My goal would be to let the puppy win her over. No person can reject a cute, darling, little puppy. I would much rather leave her house knowing that she had become fond of my little puppy --- not knowing that I had further reiniforced her feelings about the way people treat their little dogs. ------------------------------------------------------------------ QUOTING YOU -- Anyway, I'm totally going to love Teddy up like I always do, in front of her. Kisses, snuggles, playing, babytalk ... and I'm going to get such a kick out of it! Ha ha! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Not a good idea - Your "ha ha" may backfire. You have an opportunity to share your little puppy with grandma. Make the best of it. You want everyone to love your little puppy as much as possible....especially grandma. And, I'm sure she can't help but do that - if she isn't sitting around with her finger down her throat - turned off by your behavior. Carol Jean |
Tam Tam - come back and tell us how your day with grandma went...... I'm hoping to hear that she fell in love with and enjoyed your little puppy. Carol Jean |
I had a lovely Thanksgiving - thanks for asking - and hope everyone else did, too. I didn't mean to alarm anyone and I certainly didn't intend to disrespect my grandma - she is my only grandparent and I love her very much. I played with and cuddled Ted just the same as always - she did not even pet him. She just doesn't like dogs and will never understand why people feel about them the way they do. She has said in so many words that I should be married and having babies, and as I'm not ready for that yet, I will have to spoil and coddle my yorkie instead! We just have different viewpoints, that's all! :aimeeyork :) |
