When I was young, I dreamt that a wolf broke into our house and announced that it was going to eat us. I remember clearly hiding behind my father and telling the wolf to eat him first. When I woke up, I couldn't believe I had done that. I totally adored my father - and yet, I told the wolf to eat him first. What sort of monster was I! This dream obviously made a great impression on me - because I am 67 years old now - and I still remember it..... and still remember feeling ooooooooooh so bad for such a long time. So much for dreams! I'm sure a lot of information and images pass through our brains every day - and sometimes things just get all jumbled up in our dreams. I think your remembering things and thoughts that may have set this dream off - is probably a part of what really happened. ***** I figured we all do our fair share of wrong things when we're awake -We certainly shouldn't have to add what we dream on to this. Was Little Red Riding Hood your favorite book as a kid Carol Jean ??? :D |
Since the day my son was born I have had terrible nightmares that he has drowned, in a pool, a river, a fountain and yes even in a puddle....I wake up screaming and have probably had this dream 15-20 times in 12 years. I dont have this dream about any of my other children...only him.. The strange thing is...my dad has the SAME dreams about my son!! Dawn |
"The next thing I remember is that we decided to keep the puppy and started cleaning it up. That is when I woke up." I think it is the ending that is important -- something like, no matter what horrible things go on, you will always take care of your little ones. Probably means nothing like you and your husband really harming them -- instead -- life itself being a danger and in the end you will be there to take care of them! AT least that is what I would infer -- consider it a Psyche 101 interpretation. :) |
I just got done reading a dream book not long ago. This author catagorized dreams. One catagory is called "Release Dreams". Sounds like this is what happened here. She also has Prophecy Dreams, Past Lives, and I can't remember the others but for it to be something like a Prophecy Dream (something that actually comes true) there has to be a sequential order and a whole list of other things. I wouldn't worry. Dreams are a way of dealing with things and healing. But I understand waking up so upset. suzie |
I don't dream very often but when I do they are doozies. One dream was my younger sister had died and I was standing over the grave throwing in flowers and crying. When I awoke my eyes were all red and swollen. Another dream I still remember was I wasn't married and was having a thing with a surgeon i work with and I'm not telling you anymore than that-you have to use your imagination. I wonder if it was like Vi's Tom Selleck dream |

I think it is the ending that is important -- something like, no matter what horrible things go on, you will always take care of your little ones. That is very comforting. Thanks Fidebra! |
