Hi Everyone! Newbie & Loving YT I've been a lurker here for a few weeks now and want to say what a wonderful bunch you are! You are all so helpful and full of great information! I will be adding a yorkie to my family within the next month or so, and have been trying to gather as much information as I can. The litter was born on Oct. 1 (2 girls and 3 boys). I've been watching them grow since they were born. One of the girls is already spoken for, but otherwise, they are all available. I know I'm going to have a difficult time choosing, (I'm reading the female vs. male thread with great interest!) I did notice that the girl seems to have slightly runny eyes, and was wondering if this was a concern. She also has a lighter patch of tan on her head/back where the others are mostly black.I've read up on things to look for when choosing a puppy, but I would truly appreciate ANY information that you all have to offer. I'm all ears.:aimeeyork Forgive me if this has been discussed in another thread already... I'm not so great with the search tool.. |
Hello and WELCOME! All I know is that I have a boy and he is 6 months old and I just love him to death! LOL :D |
Welcome! :D I have both a girl and boy and they are different as can be, but I love them both. I know you will love whatever one you choose. Please post some pics when you get your new baby! :) |
HI! WELCOME! How excited that you are getting your baby soon!!!!!!!!!!! The runny eyes is not too much of a concern. Sometimes eyes run because there is hair poking in them or it could be a clogged tear duct, which isn't serious but if it is a clogged tear duct, her eyes will always run unless you have surgery on the tear ducts. But then again, it could be just hair making them run. I have a male and a female and there are qualities about each that I like. My female is more independant and somewhat "snobby" and my male is much more affectionate. On the other hand, my male is always wanting my attention whereas my female is more laid back. When you are chosing your puppy, I would go see them and see which ones personality and looks you like better. Of course you really cannot tell what it will look like grown when it is only a puppy. I am sure whichever one you chose you will absolutely LOVE!!!!!!!! Please keep us posted on when you will go pick out your baby! Please feel free to ask any questions that come to mind. We're glad to have you here! :) :) :) |
Welcome to YT! Congrats on getting a puppy-how exciting that must be, I am getting my yorkie sometime after the first of the year-can't wait! I personally am wanting a male when it comes time to get mine, but I was always told that when you are looking at a litter, go for the one that comes to you first-so that is probably what I will do! :D Can't really help you on the color issue-but there are a bunch of nice and informative members here, I am sure someone will help ya out! ps. post pics of your baby when you get him/her! :D |
:welcome4: to YT!! |

I love them both, and enjoy the differences. Also she is a little lady, and he is all boy. |
I already love it here and I don't even have my baby yet! I did take some pictures today when I went to visit, but as you can imagine, it was difficult to get good shots because they were so busy!! I tried to download some, but I guess they were too big. I don't know how to resize. Next time I'll have my camera on a lower quality setting. That's good to know about the runny eyes. It just looked as if the hair on her face and around her eyes was a little wet. I was set on a girl originally, but today a little guy stole my heart... so we'll see. I guess I need to make a decision soon. I can't stop thinking about them:) Thanks for all the good wishes:hearts-xx |

:welcome4: to YT. I know how excited you must be getting your furbaby soon.... |
Thanks Jeanie!... I just thought maybe seeing the runny eyes would help. The first two pics show the girl at 5 weeks, and the last one is when I saw her today at 7 weeks. They're due to go to the vet the Monday after Thanksgiving. |
Yeah Jeanie your the best I had thought I could do it but you did great :) Thank you. stephanie Your baby is so sweet. Have you thought of names yet? |
:welcome4: She's a real cutie! :) |
Hi and welcome hun and omg she is absolutely adorable congrats and i know that whichever u chose a boy or girl u wil ladsolutley love either one.. we have both also and love them both they are both diff and have such cute traits and personalities,, make sure and keep us posted on which u decide an d piccs when u get it home with u |
I think choosing a name will be a little easier once I make the final decision on a puppy boy/girl. Right now every name in the book is being tossed around. I'm hoping once we choose the puppy, a name will just fit. There are so many big decisions to make! LOL. |
1 Attachment(s) OOoohhhhh....I went to see the puppies tonight and found out that the little girl I've had my eye on since the beginning may now be available. She was reserving it for her sister, who is in Georgia... who now is having second thoughts because she is in the middle of moving to a new home. You all were so right... she came right over to me and spent an hour in my arms.. then when I put her down, I was standing at the counter and she came between my legs and fell asleep with her head on my shoe. I've attached a picture. She is sweet as can be.. Doesn't it look like she's found her mommy??? I will know by Wednesday what the scoop is...I'm holding my breath. Send positive vibes my way... pleeeeease... |

Thanks so much! The lighting wasn't the best, and their coats are so black at this age that it's hard to get a good shot..I'm just so hoping that she'll be coming home with me.. I guess what's meant to be will be... but it's so hard waiting and not knowing. |

omg she is so adorable hun i will keep my fingers and toes and anything i can crossed for you hun... she so looks right a home on ur lap... keep us posted hun |
She is gorgeous!!! She does look like she has found a place in your arms and in your heart! I'm saying a little prayer right now that this works out for you....sounds like you are going to be a great mommy! We had both a male and female....(my Lily just passed away after having her babies) and they do have such different personalities. My Lily was a lap dog and loved everyone...very prancy and girlie!! Sabastian prefers us and is not fond of strangers at all....very protective and extremely loyal. Sounds like you have made your decision or rather she has made it for you..LOL Good luck and let us know how it turns out. And you are right about this site....I am fairly new .....it is fantastic!!! These wonderful people are not only helpful and knowledgable, but extremely caring and thoughtful! I don't know what I would have done when I lost my Lily if I wouldn't have had this site!! Keep the pics coming....we love them! |
