| Intro and travel question? Hi all, I just stumbled on this site while looking fro information on travelling with my pups!!! This place looks great and I cant wait to get to know you all! Brief intro, Im Ruth 32 married to Don 36, currently live in Inverness Scotland but moving to Burlington New Jersey 29th December. Im a nurse so moving to work in USA and be near my sister who has lived their for 8 years. Other main reason for the move is after 8 years of trying for a baby, 14 failed IVF and many misscarriages my amazing sister is going to be a Surrogate for us!!!!! Of course my pups are coming with us not sure how they will cope but hope they will be ok. Hence my questions we are flying United from London to Washington my pups are traveling in the cabin with us in their dog bags. Has anyone flown United with dogs how are they? Also Im sure my little girl Lily will be fine but my boy Jake is nervous and shakes and tries to dig his way out the bag each time I try to get him used to it for a while. Has anyone ever sedated their dogs for flights? Do meds make them fall fast asleep or just relax? Any advice or travel tips would be much appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you. Ruth x

| Hello and welcome You sure have a lot on your plate right now, WOW Good luck with the move, and the surrogacy How exciting! I was advised by my vet to never ever sedate one of these tiny dogs, it could be fatal. I travelled with my Starr and while she was nervous, she did really well. I kept sneaking her out of the bag, and the flight attendants kept telling me to put her away. One of them was nice and the other was nasty about it Anyway, I've heard AWESOME things about Bach Rescue Remedy, they have it at health food stores here in the US, and I believe that there is a version specifically for pets. It's all natural and not a sedative, it's just to calm them a bit. Do you have to quarantine the dogs before bringing them to another country? I've always wondered about that, as we do plan on seeing Europe and would love to bring Luna and her future sister with us.

| hi! i live in pennsauken, nj. very close to burlington. i walk romeo @ the waterfront in burlington all the time! small world. feel free to pm me when you get to the states. we can have a playdate. good luck flying. maybe check with your vet about giving them something to sleep thru the flight. my vet gives me doggy cough syrup for travel. test out @ home first so you don't have any freaky side effects in the air. most of us bring a large blanket and sneak our babies on to our lap during the flight. bring wee wee pads and the can tinkle in the bathroom. they should be ok. good luck.
