Rehoming Rosie I have gave this alot of thought and teeter back and forth. It is just not working with Rocco and her. He is extremely jealous of her and it is making life miserable for all of us.I'm constanly getting on him and it is making me recent him,and that isn't what I want. Someone had mentioned training for Rocco, honestly I don't think this is something I can afford for awhile. I'm blaming myself, I knew Rocco had issues and had really doubted getting another one for sometime. I have someone who is interested in her and can't make up my mind if she is the right person, If I decide to rehome her I plan to be really picky about who she goes too. This lady works away from home and I would prefer someone who doesn't. I think that would work best with Rosie, and I would feel better about my decision. I know alot of YT members are against rehoming and I was too until this situation.I have to do what I feel is best for all involved and that includes Rosie If I decided to do this I'm sure I will be the bad guy on the block... .Fire away! I'm prepared. |
I've sd. it before, and I'll say it again... ...sometimes rehoming is the best choice for the owner AND the dog. It doesn't mean that you're being selfish. Sometimes it takes the greater love to give the animal up, in order to give it a life that will (for whatever reason) be better for it. Two of my dogs (one yorkie, one choc. lab) were "rehomed" with us by families who just weren't able to meet their needs. Good luck to you (and to everyone who is too scared to admit that this is a decision they are struggling with!) It happens. People need to deal. (there, I got in a pre-emptive blast for you! lol) |
I was not going to post, but, here I go......I have Miss Gwen who does not get along with two of my other girls, she is brutal to them, and has left them bleeding and scared... I am not rehoming her, what I have been doing is, keeping her away from them using the xpen... I must be carefull because she can leap over the gates too.....That is my choice to do this, it is extra work for me and my husband, but so far its working... I appauled your decision, it is a tough one to make...My husband is home all day and that makes a big difference too.........Keep me posted....... |
I think you're making the right decision. In the end you'll all be happier. |
Sometimes you have to love them enough to let them go. So sad but as long as you find her the right home, Rosie will probably be happier and then you and Rocco will feel better too. No one should judge you as we can't know the situation as well as you. It cannot be good for any of you to have this kind of tension. Do what you think is right and I am sure it will be fine. |
rehoming A true, unselfish love for a pet, is "head" love and this type love does what is best for the animal, not our own feelings. "Heart" love can be a selfish type of love, because we use our feelings and most of us try to protect our feelings. At times we need to use "head" love and other times "heart" love... There is nothing wrong in rehoming to a situation that is in our pets best interest. As a breeder I want my pet owners to do what is best for my dogs and sometimes rehoming is the best option..good luck to you. |
I TOTALLY Agree with Pat - you're doing this out of love - no one can fire anything at that girl - and I'm so sorry this is going on for you.....:( :( :( |
I think you are being very realistic about your situation. I'm sorry you have to make this decision :( |
I commend you on your decision to do the "best" thing for everyone and rehome Rosie. Most of the time we let our selfish feelings and fears get in the way of our animal's happiness and you have chosen to do the opposite. Good luck with finding a new/forever home for her! Keep us updated!!!! :) |
ok i need advise I have someone on here who is offering up their pup, he's 1yrs old she said she wants to rehome him because she has a pickeneese who picks on the yorkie. She said he's not nuetered he's 1yrs old, and he's 5lb and that shed be willing to bring him to us. I sent her a pm asking her if she wouldnt mind signing a paper stating that he is in good health. What other questions should i ask she's willing to come by today to bring him to us. It's actually for my mother in law but i feel like i want to make sure this is done right. Papers she said she has them and will give to us please give me any advice or questions that i should ask. |
I'm in tears right now and I feel as though I have had a ton of lead lifted off my shoulders for talking about this. I'm pretty sure I'm going to rehome her as long as I find her a wonderful home, maybe I will list her here and see if anyone that I would choose would want her.She is really a very sweet loving girl and cute too boot. Thanks every one for your kind comments. :) |

You're not that far, as I live near Pasadena. Although, I am not looking to add on to our little family, if I can help you rehome Rosie I will. I understand what you are looking for in a new home... Can you tell us about her? Age ~ weight~ cost, etc....... So sorry you are going through this, you are doing the right thing......... |
Sure ,she is 1 1/2 weights about 3 1/2 pounds. She is really a calm yorkie, well unless you break out the vaccumm then she goes in attack mode! She does bark when someone is outside and she can see them from the window, and she has the cutest little bark I have ever heard. If that is possible, a cute bark! She is unspayed, I had an appointment to spay her and got scared and canceled it. She was a little underweight then. She is UTD on her shots, has her rabies this last august. She is not registered. She will let you know when she needs to go out to go potty ,if you aren't around to hear then she will go in the house. I crated her only about the first week when I got her and she cried so I took her out and never put in back in.:p I have a gate that I use for when I go out and she has chewed it. I have posted on here before about me buying her from a petstore and paid quite a bit for her,2100 to be exact. well over what I think I should have. I would like to get 800 for her. Is that realistic? I don't think I should turn this into a for sale thread.I think it is against the rules here. |
ahhhhhhhh, she sounds like a little princess. I have no idea what is a reasonable price, but your price seems very fair. I will ask around. You might want to list her in The Sale Section, as much as that might hurt....... |
We have decided to rehome her. I hope to find her a great YT home so i can still see her. I will be posting it inder yorkies for sale soon. Thanks! I'm going to lower the price too. |

Shadow If I lived closer Id take her in a min. |
All great comments and could not agree more! You are not selfish and finding her a better situation than what you can provide is certainly admirable. I would look for a stay at home mom that wants an ony child to love and adore. Good Luck and choose wisely. |

GOOD LUCK !!! |
Awww.....just caught this thread! Good luck finding her a new home.......hope someone here can take her...... |
Darn I wish I knew this before I paid 1500 for nicki but I love my little witch. Rosie is the swetest thing and so cute shes beautiful somebody is going to score |
I think the price that you were asking for Rosie $800 is very fair. She is a smaller yorkie and someone will pay that for her.Especially your in California and prices are higher there but even here in Indiana I would think that was a good price |
I will get a video of her barking and let everyone here her. |
omg i would take her in amin i sowish that i lived closer... i am a stay at home person my hubby and i both are home all day long we dont work and we love our babies tremindously.. im sure that someone here will give her a good home... are u going to sell her just locally or would u be willing to ship? just a thought in case someone would love to have her and dont live in calif... keep us posted on everything hun |
