Only 3? :) I have 3 right now (actually a Dachshund, a Jack Russell, and a Yorkie) and am getting another Yorkie in a few weeks. I think there are "pet people" and those who have not yet become "pet people." Those who have not yet become enlightened sometimes do not understand or appreciate our enthusiasm for our pet families. When the right pet comes along and trains them up, it will be a different story! :) Until then, they should probably MTOB though. |
i got the same comments after each animal i brought in i say the same as you there in my house ! |
Well... Some unsolicited advice is worth ignoring.:D You go girl if that's what you want and can handle it. Blessings, Teri:animal-pa |
I agree 100% I don't see the big deal in having 3 dogs as long as you care for them. The more merrier;) |
Your post made me laugh so much. You sound so much like me. I'm engaged also and have three dogs and my fiancee's family is always making comments about my furbabies. Just this year I got both my yorkies and for the first one I heard so much crap and then when I got the second one I never thought I'd hear the end of it. LOL!!! I just got done talking to his mom earlier today and she asked me what I wanted for Christmas, so I told her a new doggie carrier type purse, LOL. I just knew she was rolling her eyes through the phone, hehehe! They make comments of my babies clothes and think I'm nuts. If my fiancee wasn't so great I would have ditched him long ago just cause his family stinks!! Yep, that was rude but when we moved in together his mom actually had the nerve to say the following "your taking Snoot, he's so old" I still can't figure out what his age has to do with anything. I've had him since I was 14 and now I'm 25. This woman must be nuts. I guess she thinks old dogs should be tossed away or something, just crazy!! Ok, I could go on and on. Mostly just wanted to say I know where your coming from. Try to ignore them :D |
You guys are the GREATEST!! I'm getting baby number 3 and that is the end of it and if next year I decide to get baby number 4 so be it. I work hard for my money and so does my fiancee...so if he doesn't care I don't care either. Its just annoying when you get negative feedback from ppl...makes you kinda think about it. You are right FLDEBRA...they are not pet ppl..all they have is a guinea pig that I bought for my niece because I had one and she loved it...and when I got her the GP my brother and her had their nose up in the air like oh a animal...I should take my babies to their house and have Timmy mark every corner of their white carpet...lol Just like Lunasmomma says..I think she is jealous..she's always talking about how cute they are and looks at my brother like I want one. Oh and another thing that got me mad was how she was saying how she liked Timmy more than Mimi...and how cute he was...I was like what are you trying to say...my girl is not ugly! Mimi is so much different..she's bigger than Timmy, her coloring is much lighter, she has a under bite, roachback and she's bigger. Who cares..she's my girl and she is beautiful to me. I really took that to heart. If my fiancee were there OMG he would have said something because Mimi is daddy's girl. Oh the the funny part was that Mimi didn't like her..she was growling and barking at her. I had to keep her on my lap. I guess she sensed that she wasn't talking nice about her. Oh I can go on and on.....She's not on my x-mas list this year.lol I'm just so looking forward to adding our new family member. |
I totally agree that someone who has never owned a yorkie cannot possibly understand. They just don't know the joy that a yorkie brings into your life. Either you 'get it' or you don't. Those that don't should keep their opinions to themselves and not judge. (fat chance!) Good luck on baby #3. |

Maybe our future inlaws are related, LOL!!! My fiancee's mom never has anything nice to say aboutmy one yorkie. Hates her hair, color and etc. Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh on her!!! |
My parents & siblings are the same way :( I'm not even telling them that our 3rd one is coming. They're too judgemental and I don't need to listen to such nonsense. I'm 44 yrs old and should be able to do what I want. If they say anything about the 3rd one, I'll just say, "the 3 of them are equivalent to one BIG dog" - hahaha :D |
I am blessed with 4 yorkies and my old girl Lucky, she is a chow-mix. There is always someone in the family that has to be a negitive about something. You know she has to be an unhappy person, she doesn't own a yorkie. lol Glad you are getting a third, before you know it will be four. I have the puppy wants too. |

Your not the crazy one, its your brother and his wife. You need one of those signs on your door that goes something like "my dogs live here, you don't". I wish I knew the rest of it! |
I am certain that if handling 3 yorkies is too much, you yourself will say enough . . . so go right ahead and get another one especially since you and no one else knows how much time is spent in taking care of our furbabies. Lots of luck finding the third baby  I am envious but I know 2 is more than enough for me right now . . . . |
I have to agree with your sister in law. Three Yorkies is too many for you. Go ahead and get the third, but, as my way of helping bring peace to your family, you can send ME the third! Eddie and Jack would LOVE another sibling, and so would I. |
