I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Yorkie!!! I CANNOT even IMAGINE my life without him...and that kinda scares me :( He is the GREATEST little guy around (it doesn't matter if he is HUMPING his stuffed monkey right now...) he is still GREAT!!!!!!! :lol tears  But honestly...he is my little baby, and he is SPOILED ROTTEN!!! I have to admit (and yes, this is pretty embarassing...) Stedman has OVER FIFTY different articles of clothing  I honestly don't even know HOW many toys he has anymore (I lost count MONTHS ago!), 3 beds, his very own chair, a PERSONALIZED bone shaped toy box, and probably 10 different collars and leashes  So do I love my Yorkie you ask? Yeah....I'D SAY SO - JUST A LITTLE BIT ;) :) :D :p |
And the potty training........how long can a baby wait B/4 having to be let out to potty? Do you take them with you before they're totally potty trained, or can they stay home a couple hours. Do they catch on after a couple months or how long does it take?? After they're trained, they're leave-able at home..right? I mean, of course not for hours on end, but like for a little while. (like....3-4 hours) Some people say they're trustable 6 hours...???? .......:questione |
About 6 hours is right. Alot of people crate train their dogs and I dont think they should be in a crate more than 6 hrs. If you are going to be longer than that get an xpen or gate them into an area. They are all different on potty training some pick it up and are traind in a couple of months and some take longer |

A baby might not be able to hold it that long. I dont know I never crate trained mine. I kept them in an xpen |
Alot of people on here cate train though and they start when they are young. I would put this question in the training section |

I think the question should be are you obsessed with your Yorkie? I can't really put into words how much I love my Georgie he is awesome and I enjoy every minute with him. Him and our boxer Coco get along great and they are both wonderful furbabies:D |
I love my Yorkies I love my Yorkie's, they are very affectionate. The only thing I don't like is they get way too many upset tummies from anything other than their dog food. (Eating stuff in the yard). My dog s love to go for walks, however living in Michigan it's kind of hard when the weather is cold and snowy or too hot in the summer. I only got Yorkies because my husband is allergic to dogs that shed. I probably would have gotten a Lab or something more suited to out of doors. They need to be brushed daily, they are kind of a pain in the neck! The good thing is they travel well. We drove from Michigan to Colorado this summer straight through in the car and they did fine. They mind me pretty good and are excellent watch dogs. If you don't like barkers, don't get a Yorkie. They are loyal and very sweet. Periwinkle Periwinkle |
There has never been a greater animal love in my entire life!!! Even tho mine is probably only part Yorkie, he is by far the BEST pet I have ever had!! He really is even more than just a pet to me. He is my little boy. My little baby. And the crazy thing about this *perfect love* is that he loves me just as much as I love him!~ He is funny, he is loving, he is so good, he loves to take baths, he loves to ride in the car, he loves to lay in the bed and sleep all night, he loves to walk in the woods and chase squirrels. He loves his snacks and hes so cute. He learns very quickly and did I already mention that he adores me? ;) He has a whole tub of toys that are just his. He has sweaters and collars and leashes and the best food money can buy. There is nothing I wouldnt buy for my little boy and even more, theres nothing I wouldnt do to make sure he is comfortable and happy and well taken care of. I LOVE him!!! He is so much a major part of life. I dont really know what I did before him, but it must have been boring.:animal36 |
Nope....................I absoutley love and adore him. Trust me I am no animal dog freak, both me and my fiance had the usual family dog as a pet. We`have been engaged a year and together for 2, so we thought it was time for another living thing to make sure we could do other things together and we spend more time at home and take him anywhere we go he is allowed to go. Labs are great dogs and I know nothing about dogs, but once you find that special Yorkie you wont care how much time you have to spend grooming him, anytime with a yorkie is awsome. Tyson is only 4 months and we look at him everyday and ask him how we got so lucky. My fiance is 6' 3 and built like a baseball player and takes Tyson everywhere he can take him...he walks in the door everytime he comes back with him and says I can not believe I am in public carrying some toy breed dog around, but he loves this puppy more then words can say, like I said I am no dog/animal freak, but then again really dont need to be with my yorkie because really I have a 4pound little human with hair, tht I would take a bullet for, so all I can tell you is once you spend some quality time with a cute socialized yorkie it will be all over........... |
love my Yorkies That's funny! My macho husband walks our dogs a lot. He says sometimes he feels silly walking two little dogs down the street in sweaters! But everyone stops and says how cute they look. My husband did not care for dogs and now that our kids are grown and we have the Yorkies, he loves them. He calls the male his (son)! |
welcome to YT!!!! Not only do I like my Yorkie! I LOVE HER TO PIECES!!!!!!! Yorkies are the most sweetest and loving babies! If you are looking for a lap dog, then look no further, my leg is about to go to sleep right now cause my baby is on my lap and I type this to you. Everywhere I go, she follows me! I do my own grooming, the only thing I dont do is nail clipping, it cost me $4.00 to have her nails clipped. Hope you find a baby soon! |
