This is a beautiful bow . |
Okay girls I have some directions ready do you want me to put them here or open a new bow making thread? Debbie Ray sum Toi Yorkies |
Open up a bow making thread Im Interested |
2 Attachment(s) Attachment 77619 Attachment 77620first I am going to teach making a bow out of one piece of double sided ribbon Cut a piece of ribbon 8 inches long. fold the first loop to be sure you over lap the middle a tiny bit at 1 and 1/2 inches Then fold the ribbon on each side so that you have a perfect 1/4 inch on either side |
2 Attachment(s) Then this is where the piece of cardboard comes in , have it cut at 1 and a half inches and make a line Attachment 77621 Attachment 77622 down the middle. That is where you will start sewing and you will check it on the other side to make sure you have stiched it in the middle. |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 77623Now draw the thread together but not to tight as you want enough width to add bling |
1 Attachment(s) Now start from the edge of the middle of the ribbon and thread some bling through the needle and attach on the other side Attachment 77624 |
1 Attachment(s) Next you are going to sew on one or two rubber bands most handlers want two band because the bows will last longer Attachment 77625 Make sure you sew the rubber band on so it will set straight up and down, note the picture as then it will set straight on the head. |
2 Attachment(s) Next we are going to shape it and starch it or spray with Acrylic sealer. I make so many that I shape them on knitting needles large for the middle and a bit smaller for the sides.Attachment 77626 Attachment 77627 I will do ten at a time, spray till wet and let dry until stiff, if you have heat like a fire place or a heater vet they get nice and hard. Years ago when I first started and I just made them for myself I used ink pens to starch one at a time |
1 Attachment(s) To remove twist one needle or pen if that is what you are using at a time. It may sound like a lot of work but I can make one in about a minute.Attachment 77628 your first bows will not be perfect unless you have paid attention!!! If you want more I can keep going on the double bows with lace in the middle and one sided ribbon. It is all done the same but you have to hold a bit more ribbon, just a bit harder. Happy Bow making!! Debbie Ray www.sumtoiyorkies.com |
I hope you all enjoy this as I am not good on the computer and this was a lot of work!!!!!!! |
