Second yorkie...male or female?? I am searching for a second yorkie to add to my little family! I don't know what would be a better buddy match for my "quite dominant" little female darling!! I have heard that 2 females don't always get along and a male would be a better choice. Any thoughts or experience to share???? Also, has anyone ever had a "morkie" (maltese/yorkie)? A friend told me to consider one...I have NEVER seen one in person, but she said they are adorable! Just wondering.... Thanks for your thoughts! Presley's mommy

| I have not seen a morkie either but in pictures they are so sweet looking. I have two young girls they get along great. I have heard a male and female pals (the male will spray..) I know my Jack R. does and he has been neuter for 10 yrs now.. MY Girls are not fixed yet (Sissy real soon) but..I do not think it will matter.

Which one? Is your girl old enough to feel motherly? My Roxie will welcome anyone into our home as long as their a puppy, she's such a mom. Otherwise make sure you don't get another dominant female or you'll have a turf war on your hands (at least for a while) I ended up parting with the pup I really wanted to keep from my last litter because she was dominant and Roxie kept putting her down. I could tell it would just be trouble. Remi ended up being the better choice and has the temperment and color that I want to breed for.

I have read on a couple of breeder sites that say they have broken up fights with 2 females, a female and a male but never 2 males. I don't know if this is true or not because I only have 1 little male. I have never seen a Morkie but for my money there is nothing as cute as a Yorkie. Just my 2 cents worth.

My little girl is VERY DOMINANT! And I am concerned about that. She has spent time with my mom's yorkie and they mostly just chased each other around..no fights. However, my mom's dog is 12 lbs..so even if Presley (my dog) does get annoyed, she is too small to do much..and my mom's yorkie is just a sweetheart at ALL TIMES. She never gets aggressive. I really don't want any "spraying" going on with a male...I guess I will just have to find the right "fit" for us. Thanks guys!
