hey what about vinegar i read somewhere they don't like the smell of it |
I'd certainly limit the space when not at home! Mine is a climber too, and it sucks when we can't leave them in one room while we're gone. I know it doesn't work on all, but I use clear deoderant on anything Venus starts chewing on. She's chewed a hole in my lenolium, working on basboards, one outside corner of the room. Seems everything I put the deoderant on real well....she only goes back to one time, after one taste:eek: she changes her mind. So my kitchen is now very well deoderized and shouldn't stink when sweating:D I also give her something else she likes to chew on real good, like those pig ear looking things. Find something your pup loves to chew on, that will last a long time. Thats helped some with me. But seems for Venus, nothing works like a good coating of clear deoderant! I know a few here, it doesn't work on, but it does on Venus. |
Try the idea of an x-pen with a top, or lock her in your bathroom for HER safety. I like to call people who've bought pups from me on their b-days if I have't heard from them. well, I'll never get over calling a woman who was home all the time with her 3 year old yorkie. She walked into a room after being on the phone to find her 3 year old baby laying with her teeth clamped on a live cord. Of course she was dead. Her description still haunts me. I have used paprika with a little water and have found that they do not go back. They wheeze and snort (as I would), but it hasn't hurt them. Those cow hooves are still real popular with my girls. (I sure don't get it, but they love them to chew on). Good luck. :) |
My dog trainer at pet smart told me "bitter yuck" tasted even worse than bitter apple to them, so it's a great deterent. Sorry if i'm repeating something someone said, I didn't really read through all the posts. :p Good luck!! |
