Ewww, why oh why would she do that? OMGosh, I am so freakin sick. Candi ate cat liter/poo. I am so grossed out. What is wrong with her, why would she do that? Eww, I yelled, grabbed her, put her in the tub, washed her, brushed her teeth, conditioned her, and brushed her teeth again. Ewww, she better never do that again. I am seriously sick, and my husband is laughing his a$$ off. He thinks she is nasty and I'm crazy, but what would you have done. I am so freakin out, that is just too nasty. My goodness, I even cook for that little sh!t head and she just had to go and do that. (I really do cook pretty good too) PLEASE tell me someone else has or had a little yuck yuck baby do that before. I am so calling the vet... |
Um I have never had that happen before with the girls! I know my husband little toy fox terrior eats horse poop! I makes me sick too, and my hubby just laughs. I think you did the right thing... Making sure she is all fresh! I just makes you feel better. |
I think there must be something wrong with her cuz that can not be normal. Do you think I should call the vet tonight or wait til morning? Girl, if she ate horse poo I think I would have died of a heart attack. |
Do you have a 24 hour vet clinic you can call? If not maybe do it first thing in the morning.... |
Yes I do calling now... |
ok let me know what they say.....waiting |
I hope the outcome is good....ugh! Hey you and I are the same age by the way!!! Heheee haaaa!!!!! |
OMGosh, they just told me that MANY dogs eat poo, wether it's their own or another pets. That if that behavior continues I can buy some kind of powder stuff from the vet and put it on the cats food. That it will make her stop. That is just gross, I am NOT waiting for her to do it again. I am going to get the powder and the cats box goes downstairs. I think my poor little gross baby has issues.. |
UGH!!!!! Do you think she has done it before? Wow!!! Poor girl! Yes go buy that powder stuff! I dont know know why dogs do that. |
My dog did when he was little. When i called the vet and asked the told me to go to the store and get ACCENT- its in the spice isle. Sprinkle a little on their food everytime you give them fresh food-worked for me! |
You could try that too! |
Several and I mean several dogs eat cat poop, they love it in fact!! You want to know why they do this??? You know how dogs love eating cat food?? Well, dogs having incredible senses, can detect your cats undigested food and nutrients in your cat's poop. It is called Coprophagia. You can get tablets to give your dog to stop this behavior, you can sprinkle stuff on your cat's food and I heard you can give your dog a small can of pumpkin and this will stop it too. I have never really had this problem so I don't know how well these things work. Here is a link to some tablets... http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2026138&Ne=2 My cats' litter box is upstairs. The stairs are gaited off so that the dogs can't go up there but the cats can jump over the gate with much ease. It is disgusting, but fairly common. Nothing to panic over unless your cat is very ill and can pass the disease to your dog by the dog eating the cat's feces. |
You're thinking like a human. :D It isn't gross to them at all. Gus ate our other dog's poop a time or two when he was a puppy. I trained him to stay away but mostly I think he grew out of it. |
Chachi used to sneak and eat the cats poo and one time he threw it up all over the place now that was gross. I was so glad when he quit doing it. |
I can't even bare the thought of her liking it. Last night I moved the cat box down stairs, and put a gate up, (not that any of my girls would actually go down steps on their own LOL) and I am going to pick up this food powder stuff this am.... I just really hope she doesn't do that again.:thumbdown |
She just had a nice CRUNCHY TREAT Mom ! Mine have never done that (I don't HAVE a litter box - and I don't know WHY they do it - but I've seen other people say their yorkies like Kitty litter .... Crunch Crunch Yum Yum !!:p |
My co-worker has a pom that eats her cats litter, luckily we havn't had that problem YET! There is tread on dogs that eat poo I found it in the search very helpful info in there |

Ugh My male yorkie found some poo in the yard ..... and started eating it. Freaked my little grandson out something terrible. I yelled at him "BAD" and he stopped eating right away and has never done it again. I really don't know what kind of poo it was but we do not have cats (allergies) so there is no in-house poo poo eating here. (lol):D |

My brother's miniature american eskimo LOOOOVES his own poo. Especially when it's frozen in the winter! It's like he's digging up little toys under all the snow, he even throws them around and runs after them! Then after he's had his fun, it makes a nice light snack :D |
I know just how you feel...it is soooo disgusting and I've heard a lot of people that have dogs and cats having this problem and having to put the litterbox up. Maddie never showed any interest in eating poop until one day when I let her out to go potty. She was walking around sniffing and next thing I know, she's rolling on the ground...then stands up and starts eating something. I run to her to find it's poop! I was totally grossed out...and it stunk to high heaven! I carried her in at arms length and bathed her and cleaned her mouth and brushed teeth and then called my vet. I thought it may be raccoon poop, so he had me come up to get some wormer and a pill for her because raccoon poop carries some deadly parasites. Ugh! I don't know for sure who's poop it was...just know it wasn't her own because I always keep hers picked up each time she goes. She's never done it since..."knock on wood!" And...she darn well better not do it again! LOL |
I know how you feel!! When Tia was a baby, she loved to her poo!! Her breath stunk!! But she only did it a few times and then stopped -- thank god!! :D |
tye sometimes eats poo but only his brothers (zac) and it still has to be warm lol he did it once when zac was still going and there was tye munching it as it came out of zacs bum, zac face was kind of like   lol |
This can be common among dogs, eating their poop, another dogs poop, or another animals poop. Yeah it's grossed, but it does happen so no need to freak out. I only had to deal w/ a dog eating his own poop, so hopefully your vet can help you get your babe out of this nasty habit! Good luck! |
So nasty. I am cracking up.:yelrotflm :yelrotflm I know it is gross but most dogs do it a some point. I bet all of ours have a taste we don't know about. Just give her a mint and put the litter up. hee hee |
