Omg!!! I was searching the web for tiny dog apparel when I came across this http://www.wizardofclaws.com/specialyorkies/y2.htm Look how much they want for this pup. |
that is bs!! 10,000 for a pup! they just want $$$ poor dog its probably a puppymiller. that dog costs more than my car! |
Yep! They'll probably get it too because they have such powerful marketing and wealthy celebrities and others who have "their people" search for and find their dogs for them will come upon this site and sites like it (Divapups) and pay the price because it is a drop in the bucket to them and they want what they want!! Those of us on here know that we don't have to pay those prices if we are patient and can spend the time to research, talk to breeders and wait for the right puppy to come along! |

The Wizard of Claws is bad news - a mill for sure - but bad bad news on the internet |
I have seen that site too! It is obsurd! There is no way anyone celebrity or not should be dooped for that much money... I feel sorry for the dog, that price puts a lot of pressure on her to be perfect... |

Exactly. That's outrageous! What's even funnier is that they also have pups of the same b reed available for $950.00 So why is that ONE dog so damn much? Sure she's smaller then the rest, but smaller isn't always better. Their bones are more brittle and they are more likely to have serious health problems. It says on their site that they have yorkies as small as 1-2 pounds full grown. Now that cannot be healthy. This is direct from their site "Yes, occasionally we also have extremely special tea cups adult weight will be 1 lb - 2 lbs., these puppies are the outcome of many, and many years of select breeding and are only placed in very special homes." WHAT THE HELL? |
My girl Jewels is going to be about 3 or4 lbs and that is small!!!!!!! I can't even imagine 1or 2lbs. That price is wayyyyyy high but someone will pay it. |

I believe Wizard of Claws is a brooker. They are there to SELL SELL SELL! |
Oh its Wizards of Claws!!!! Now it makes sense!!!! Yea they sell to celebritys and they are also a broker. |
DO NOT BUY from Wizard of Claws. While they state that they are "breeders" or "consultants", they are in fact a pet store. They are not a kennel as they also sometimes claim to be. They are located in a strip mall in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Most of their puppies come from puppy mills, even though they say they are against them. While they do not themselves buy from puppy mills, they do buy from brokers who buy their puppies from puppy mills. James (aka Jim) and Gilda Anderson, the owners of Wizard of Claws, are known to buy at least some of their puppies from The Hunte Corporation, the largest puppy broker in the United States. In 2002, the USDA charged James Anderson and Wizard of Cl'oz with violations of the Animal Welfare Act in numerous areas including recordkeeping and veterinary care. In 2003, they were found guilty of the charges by reason of default. http://www.usda.gov/da/oaljdecision...ol62_at_185.htm This is the third time James Anderson was charged with violating the Animal Welfare Act under three different business names. They have since changed the name of their business once again to Wizard of Claws. James Anderson (DC# L34318) is also a convicted felon and was released from prison in 2001. http://www.dc.state.fl.us/appcommon...asp?Action=Find Therefore, Wizard of Claws is legally owned by his wife, Gilda Perez Anderson. In addition, Wizard of Claws has and will knowingly misrepresent the health of the puppy to sell it at a 200 - 500 percent profit (and sometimes more). They will also misrepresent or blatantly lie about the estimated size of the puppy as an adult. Many of their "teacup" puppies are not teacup or even miniature, but just standard size. However, since they do not guarantee the size of the puppy, there is nothing the buyer can do. They will also lie about where the puppy came from, who the breeder is and any information about the puppies' parents. Most of their puppies come from Missouri, the puppy mill capital of the U.S. PUPPY STORE SUED FOR MISLEADING CUSTOMERS, SELLING SICK PUPPIES (Pembroke Pines, FL) Two South Florida attorneys have filed a lawsuit on behalf of customers that bought puppies from Wizard of Claws Inc., alleging that the Pembroke Pines pet store defrauds customers by intentionally misrepresenting the origin of the puppies sold, and by selling puppies that suffer from a wide array of health problems, including contagious diseases and genetic disorders. I cannot even explain how I feel about these evil people and the ones who supply them with the inferior, sickly looking puppies. Advertising is their forte.. |
hhahaha while the $10,000 pup is outragous...i was lookin at other pups from here and this pup is just TO funHAHA |
THey also have a Morkie...so do i ..and i payed $200 less! :animal-sm :animal-sm :animal-sm :animal-sm |
OMG...now its a new scam...pocketbook...what is a pocketbook...no such thing. |
i don't know about the rest of you but my #1 reason or concern about "tinies" is people don't know how to take care of them. i know i didn't before i joined yorkietalk. chances are if i would have got a tiny and it got sick it probably would've died b/c i wouldn't have known what too do. thank god the breeders on YT explain in great detail how to take care of any pup big or small. but when people buy from mills or brookers over the internet they don't have a clue. then not only does the poor animal suffer and usually die but the new owner is heartbroken. it makes me so angry. i think the breeders on YT are the best b/c just from listening i know that it takes a lot of time, work, money, sleepless nights etc. to be a "good" breeder and to breed for the love of the breed and to better it not to make $$$. i wish all breeders were like yall. |

Yea they never mention a word about Hypoglycemia when they are selling these dogs that are gonna be 1lb. You know a 1lb dog would have to be hypoglycemic. Also it seems their bone structure would be so fragile that mere existance would be a challenge. |
My Tucker is only 2 1/2 pounds at 4 1/2 months and it is so much work. I love him to bits, but I am constantly watching him & I can't wait for him to get a little bigger. I seems to me that the type of people who would buy from this site are the type of people who don't do any research. I don't know if they'll know how to care for a puppy that tiny! I go back to the breeder for all of my questions and concerns and I'm pretty sure that this place isn't going to be able to answer questions to help whomever buys these little pups. It's a shame :( |
It has a notoriously bad reputation. It is a mill and broker type situation. |
This is a perfect example of why people try and warn others about buying from websites or brokers. There are innocent people out there that have know idea this type situation exist. They may see a nice looking professional website, nice looking dogs, see the high amount and may have a false sense of security in thinking the high price probably assures them a good healthy quality pup. There are wolves in sheep’s clothing out there and they can be pretty nice and convincing that they are nice, trustworthy people. This just happens to be a large scale, well known operation but there are hundreds more just like them. Of course not all charge that much but they usually charge more than a good quality reputable breeder. As far as brokers go, for the most part your good breeders never sell their dogs to brokers. They have no problem selling or finding the perfect home for their pups. Nor do most good breeders produce mass amounts of litters to need a broker to help them find buyers. Brokers are typically a go between from a miller to the consumer. |
Can you imagine what kind of profit these people are making off of the poor little babies, I would love to talk to someone that got a dog from these people.. |
I made a thread about them a while back. Wizard of Claws is bad news! |
If you do a search you will find many people have gotten sick dogs from WOC. It's a terrible place. I like to look at puppies online (just looking) and have visited that site quite a few times. I always thought the puppies looked so sad. :( |
