Both my girls did as puppies especially at night - I always made sure what they wore as puppies fit really well if they slept in them so there was no way for it to tangle around their necks - but I'm up and down all night and a super light sleeper but watch out if they wear them all day - tangles and knots !!! I now put CC Ice on Ice on them before dressing them - especially under their arms and back of necks - it really helps prevent that matting |
I forgot to add in my post I only buy practical clothing now. I only buy things with harness clips oon them. I take my dogs out on walks twice a day. I doont want to take clothes off to put the harness on to put the clothes back over top of the harness. I have alot of clothes without harness clips that I never put on them |

1. In her Gap hoodie 2. Sleeping in her onesie 3. In her leopard coat next to her matching bag (earlier today, we took my husband to the airport and did some other errands-it was COLD!!!) As you can see, she likes her clothes! |
Well when my hubby agreed to let me get yorkies, I had to agree not to dress them up except for in Auburn University attire. So, they definately have their fair share of Auburn shirts, but I get around this rule somewhat by getting clothes that have D-rings on them. I tell my hubby that they are "harnesses" for when we go on walks. :p :p :p Hootie and Hobbs doesn't seem to mind the clothes. I just always worry that they'll get too hot, since we live in steamy hot Alabama and all. |

I love that bag too-it COMPLETELY hides her...I snuck her into rest stops and gas stations all last weekend in that thing, and no one knew. It hangs really nicely on the back of the bathroom stall doors too ;) I got it at Petsmart when I was on vacation in August on SUPER clearance. For whatever crazy reason, that bag was on sale. Originally it was $60 something...and guess how much I paid for it? Any guesses? $20? no...$10? no...$5? NO! I paid a whole $2!!!!!!!!!!! I bought 3 carriers that day, since they were all on sale for $2! Don't know why, and I didn't ask questions, I put my $6 on the counter and literally skipped into the parking lot! I've seen the same ones recently at my own Petsmart for $15 or more! |

Yes-hoodie is from Gap. I'm addicted-for my own clothes and Emma's! She has a pink and yellow one too, and a polo shirt from there. She also has a turtleneck sweater-which I have one that matches it! (cheesy or cute? Haven't decided yet!) We have them every season at most of the Gap locations in Des Moines, however, I looked and asked about clothes when we were in Minneapolis last weekend, and they'd never heard of them! I thought a bigger market would have them-but I guess not! I know that they were once available online...not sure if they are. They usually sell out of our stores quickly-so check often! Sizing can be weird..the XS fits Emma but is kind of short, and the S is long enough, but too wide-she's pretty skinny. The knit stuff fits better than the sweats. When in doubt, I'd go bigger-you could always try to shrink them down in the dryer like I did! |
At first Teddy didn't like them, he would growl and move a lot when I was putting them on but I started giving him some food while putting them on and now he lets me or he knows he has to cause it's chilly here now so I guess now he's used to them. My mom and grandma says he likes them because he happily walks around in them, I guess he knows they're warmer and plus I think it's sooo cute! |

I only dress mine when going outside and it's cold. If they are wearing a Tshirt or sweater I have been putting the harness OVER the clothing. But with a heavy coat I put the harness on first. Hopefully there is a slit in the coat for the leash to come thru. I have just ordered 2 new coats from Tinkerbell's Closet that have D rings on them. I can't wait to try them out. SUZY: Next time you see a great sale like that at PetSmart, please let us know. I have never seen carriers for $2 and I look at them all the time. I would love one like yours! |
My yorkie Chloe wears clothes 75% of the time and she seems to like them. We dont have any problem with matting unless she is wearing something that is tight around the arms and thats only if she is wearing it for a long time non-stop. I usually brush before and after I put clothes on her and we dont seem to have any problems. Now my chihuahua tinkerbell doesnt seem to like clothes as much so she only wears clothing when needed, like when its cold, or when she needs to wear a harness I put cute little harness dresses on her.:) |

If you get a step-in harness its easy to just stick them over the clothes. I do this alot in the winter as a lot of my girl's sweaters and coats dont always have d-rings. |
