The only reason I ever mentioned a price is because she said in her original post that she couldnt afford a dog that cost $2000?? I was trying to point out that a pet quality dog in Windsor was fairly reasonable if she wanted to go that route...or even rescues have some great yorkies that need a new home. If you want top quality pups and can afford the price tag then go for it...but Reece is worth looking at to me..have a good one.

OMG.....I have a almost 4 year old female and we just found out that she is pregnant...(we were told that she could not get pregnant)....I have read and read and talked to my vet and tried to get ready for the unexpected, but I'm still scared to death...and after reading all this you have wrote, I am now scared sh##less!!!! I was informed about the possible C section and have Dr. number ready, informed about the shots, tail, and claws, but my vet never said anything about checking on the pups every 90 min. Luckily I am a stay-at-home mommy to my yorkies as well, so we have cleared our schedule to be home with her until the babies are older.....she is due last week of Oct. I just appreciate that you have shared your information....the 'not so fun' information with me, so that I can get better prepared for this event! Any other info that you think I might can use, me let me know!!! We are excited about the new arrival, but we also want to be prepared! We have helped birth kittens before, but this is our first time with yorkies (dogs period). Is there anything you didn't mention above that we need to expect or look out for? Sorry if I'm trying to be an information hog....the computer is sometimes vague.

You might want to work with your vet to help you get together a whelping kit. There is also, a wonderful book, Breeding A Litter (The Complete Book of Prenatal and Postnatal Care by Beth J. Finder Harries. Do you have someone near by that may be able to help you if you need it.

You may start putting her in a confined area with a whelping box.....or she may have those puppies all over the place.

When I was trying to get the websites I wanted to send I noticed the maltese website said to start feeding puppy food at 8 weeks pregnant. I think most of us start feeding a high quality puppy food right away.
